Fight The Good Fight Of Faith 1 — PASTOR SAM MAKANJU
He hath chosen of that word giveth light, it giveth understanding unto the simple. There is a place where the undiluted word of God is shared. Welcome to this brings a rapic church who preach and teach the true gospel, who demonstrate the power of the spirit to inspire, equip, and impart believers for the fulfillment of the great commission. Come and worship with us. We are the burning ones, era of a new dawn. You. We say thank you. We give you praise. We give you glory. Receive our thanksgiving in the name of Jesus. Amen. Father, we declare that you are the only one that we have. Without you, we are nothing. With you, we are everything. Scripture says we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. And, Lord, in your name we receive grace to do all things for the glory of our Father and the blessing of our lives. Amen. We thank you, Father. Hallelujah. Father, this evening, we are hungry for bread. We are thirsty for the living water. We ask, O God, that you give bread to our thirsty heart. And you give seed, O God, to our wanting spirit. In the name of Jesus. Amen. We ask, O Father, that we live here today blessed and richly blessed. Thank you, Father. Hallelujah. In Jesus name we have prayed. Amen. And the church says, Amen. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. But, by the grace of God, in next few minutes, we'll just be taking the word, and we'll be engaging ourselves in some prayers. Let's be seated in God's presence. Please, be seated. Today, by the grace of God, we'll be looking at what I titled, Fighting the Good Fight of Faith. Fighting the Good Fight of Faith. In Jude chapter 1 verse 3, if you have your Bible, in Jude chapter 1 verse 3, Jude chapter 1 verse 3, Scripture says, "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Let me read again. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. May the Lord bless the reading of this word for the salvation of our soul in Jesus name. Amen. We saw the administration of uh, Brother Jude here to the believers, and he said that they should contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. We are in a trying time. We are in a season when the faith of men is subject to trial. We are in a season when what we believe or what we profess is being put to test. And, sincerely speaking, just like uh, one of our the fathers I look up to said in one of his Facebook posts, he said, when COVID-19 is over, some preachers they are not come to the pulpit to preach faith again. Hallelujah. Because if they come to the pulpit to preach faith, is a show of hypocrisy. Because the time when faith need to be tested, they denied their faith. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Do you understand? Should I tell you that at this time some men that I used to know as great preacher overnight became common sense preacher. They start telling you common sense will tell you to do this. You know, by common sense, we should not be here today. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Do you understand? By common sense, we should know what? Be here today. But, you know, the common sense that gave government the liberty and the strength to close down churches and the meetings of believers, that didn't give them the strength and liberty to close down marketplaces, that make them go to, in fact, I learned that uh, by Monday or uh, yes, this Monday, uh, in Lagos, where every day they presumably see increase in this coronavirus cases, uh, the government is relaxing the lockdown and people will be going to work. And yet, even though people will be going to work, churches and mosques are still said to be closed. Why? Because they don't want such virus to be spread. Praise the Lord. So, if you come to church and it will spread, but actually, in the workplace, it can spread. The Tanzanian president said, "I'm not going to close down churches, I won't close down mosque." And you know his excuse. The man has more than that by the many of our pastors. He said because the virus cannot survive in the body of Christ. Do you understand? So, the a nation president understood that actually, the coming together of the believer is an extension of the spiritual body of Christ. And actually, just like I told a friend of mine, I said, if the body, the local assembly is really the body of Christ, you know the problem we're having in the body of Christ, what we call the body of Christ today is that there are many local assembly, there are not really members of the body of Christ. They are not different from a social gathering. Many of them are not even different from a club. So, when when the virus enters such environment, it can thrive. But actually, when the virus comes to an environment that is a that is a part of the member of the body of Christ, I can tell you, if you believe and you know what you carry as individuals, that virus cannot thrive in that environment. Hallelujah. Thank God we've done the teaching before on the kind of presence we come to when we gather. I think how many of us can remember that attitude when we gather? And I I I was teaching us some from the book of Hebrews chapter 12. When I told us that we've not come to the to to the mountain which cannot be touched, we've come to the garden of innumerable of angels. We've come to the church of the firstborn. We've come to the presence of the most high God. We've come to Zion. How many of us can remember that teaching? And I explained to us that anytime we gather, it's not just a physical gathering, it's a spiritual gathering. In fact, one of our brothers shared the word recently, which I was like, wow. He said, he said, prayer is not is not, uh, communication between mortal and immortal is a communication between immortal and immortal. And that's very true. Because until you understand the immortal dimension of ourselves as believers, that actually who we really are is beyond the flesh, who we really are is who we are in the spirit, we will know that, look, virus cannot infect immortal beings. Praise the Lord. Until we start living the eternal life that we really carry, brethren, we will see ourselves being at the mercy of the world system. Psalm 82, verse 5, they know not, neither they understand, they walk on in darkness. The foundation of the earth is out of course. I have not told you that you are God's sons of the most high, but you will die like mere men. Why? Because they know not, neither do they understand. So this is a time when what we claim to believe is subject to test. This is a time when what we profess as believers is subject to trial. And this is a time when you need to contend earnestly for what, what, what you say you believe. This is a time when you need to contend earnestly for the faith that was delivered unto the saints. May the Lord bless the reading of this word for the salvation of our souls in Jesus name. Amen.
