Now, Second Timothy chapter three, I want to help us with a strong foundation for this program. So that in subsequent months, we will be we have a proper grasp of what this program really entails. Second Timothy chapter three, verse, we will be reading verse 14 to verse 17. Second Timothy chapter three, verse 14 to verse 17. "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned, and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus." I'm reading verse 16: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." Amen. Now, the first thing I want to establish this evening is that a season believer must first be a learner. Say a learner. Now, every believer that will be seasoned, every believer that will be sound in their walk with God, must first be a learner. His learning must be to the end of bringing assurance. Now, Paul told Timothy, he said, "But continue in the things which thou hast learned." So, a believer, someone who must be a season believer, must be a continual learner. Someone that learns every day because the Christian faith is a knowledge faith. Hallelujah. Now, let me say it again. The Christian faith is a what? Is a knowledge faith. You are a crew what is available for you in this faith based on the knowledge that you have. Scripture says in Matthew, in John chapter eight, I think verse 32, he said, "You will know the truth and the truth shall make you free." Hallelujah. So, what brings freedom in our walk with God is the level of knowledge that a believer acquires. Psalm 32, I used to call it very well. You know, the psalmist was speaking about some set of people. And he said, they know not, neither do they understand. He said, they walk on in darkness and the foundations of the earth is out of course. So, I finally told you that ye are gods, sons of the Most High, but you will die like mortal men. That's to tell you that there are people who did not know, and because they didn't know who they are, they didn't know what they have, what should be before them befell them. Hallelujah. So, the point is that there are realities we have in Christ. There are things that are ased by inheritance in Christ. But if you don't know, you can't lay full grasp of those things. Please, are you following what I'm saying? So, a seasoned believer, a believer who we accuse everything that God has prepared for him in Christ, must be a continual learner. And his learning must be in such a way that it's to deepen his conviction, it's to give him more assurance. Are you getting what I'm saying now? You're not just learning for learning's sake. You are learning to deepen your assurance of what you have learned. So, for example, when you got born again, you got born again on the on the premise of your faith in Jesus being the son of God who died for your sin and who was raised by the power of God from death. That's the premise on which you get saved. First Corinthians chapter 15. That's the premise. But as you study the scripture every day, you get more convinced. As you study the scripture every day, you get more revelation that Jesus is indeed the son of God. Please, are you getting what I'm saying now? So, when you got born again, your level of knowledge and your assurance about the person of Jesus should get deeper by the day if you are a seasoned believer. So, that means if you've got born again last year, your knowledge and your assurance about the person of Jesus should have been deeper today than it was last year. Please, are you following what I'm saying? So, Paul told him, he said, "Continue the things which you've learned." and as been assured of. So, there was there's an assurance that must come with it. There's an assurance that must come with it. That assurance is what we keep a man going, you know, today my son and my wife were watching, uh, uh, a particular program by, uh, on online or no, or on TV, on Faith TV. It's a Christian program. And, you know, the lady was talking about how what happened to Peter, how Peter died in Rome. Now, it was said concerning Peter that Peter was Peter's wife was killed before before him. Such that they they the wife was thrown to, uh, a white animal, to tear the wife up. The intention of that is so that Peter will lose faith and will probably recount his faith. But do you know what they said Peter said? According to that lady, she said, "The word Peter told his wife was, 'Remember the Lord.'" Did you remember? He said, "Remember the Lord." And I asked, that if it will take a man who has been deeply assured of the faith to see his wife and his children facing a white animal, and we not renounce the faith. It takes a deep-seated assurance. Do you understand what I'm saying now? It takes a level of assurance. And that's the problem we have in the Christian faith in this generation. There's this level of assurance that we are not having. And that's what makes us shake at the sight of little tribulation. Please, do you understand what I'm saying now? And that, that is why as believers, we must, we must drive ourselves towards getting assured by the day. Say daily. Then, there's an assurance that must come to you daily, daily, daily. It's an assurance that must come daily. It's an assurance that must come daily. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. So, the the the the believer must have that, that understanding. It must be a settled deal in his heart. It must be a settled issue in his heart. A seasoned believer must first be a learner. His learner must be to the end of bringing assurance, deepening his conviction on the matter of his faith. Number two, that I want to lay as foundation today is that a seasoned believer must also have someone from whom he is learning. Let me say it again. A seasoned believer must have someone from whom he is learning. Paul told Timothy, he said, "Continue thou in the things which thou has learned, and has been assured of, knowing of whom thou has learned them." A seasoned believer must have a consistent teacher. You don't just jump here and there eating everywhere. When you jump here and there and you are eating everywhere, it's very likely that you have spiritual constipation or spiritual diarrhea. But the point is that a seasoned believer, a believer who will grow well, must have someone specific that he is learning from. Doctrinal sanctity is ensured when there is a notable source from which the believer is learning. We ensure doctrinal sanctity. We ensure doctrinal sense when a source that is trusted is the source from which the believer is learning. Hallelujah. Please, are you following what I'm saying? So, the the the reason why many people are not making sense in their walk with God is because they don't have a trusted source from which they are feeding. Peter writing to the believers in first Peter chapter two, likening the believer to a babe. And he said, "Like newborn babe, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby." That ye may grow thereby. Now, the point is that we all know that it's unhygienic for a baby to be sucking every breast of every woman that come across the baby. Do you know? It's unhygienic. You can't say, oh, because he's a baby, every everywhere and every woman, you can feed him. In fact, most mothers will not agree. You know, you are feeding your baby, then probably after you've given the baby two minutes you now the baby is now crying after you say, "Ah, I have this mother with me." You start the baby and feed him. No, he's not done that way. Because most mothers would want their baby to suffer from where? From them. The same way it is for the believer. A believer will grow appropriately. A believer who will go in the proportion that God desired that the believer grows must have a notable consistent source from which he drinks. Very important. Very important. And that is why it's it's it's it's proper it's advised that a believer must belong to a local assembly, because the local assembly should be your feeding center. Hallelujah. Please, do you understand what I'm saying now? So, what God wants to do is that God wants to feed you, but the channel through which he will feed you is through the local assembly. So, you must belong to a local assembly. That is the channel through which God feeds. But when a believer is, you spend two weeks here, you leave. You spend a week here, you leave. Spend one week here, you leave, spend another one week here, you leave. So, that in a year, a believer has attended about eight churches. Most of the time that believer does not have the the is not showing the expected sign of growth. Please, I'm not against telling church, you can change church. In fact, circumstance can can make you change church. Probably you have to travel from Akure now to another town. You can't be coming from that town to day spring. That's your next trip. But the point is that, you know, the moment you are changing base, you are in Akure for five months, you attended the place and you are well-fed. Now, when you are changing base, God knows that you are changing base on a legitimate reason. Now, God will align you to a local assembly where what you've been fed with over time, we align with what you'll be fed with in that place. Please, are you getting what I'm saying now? And that is why when it comes to making a choice of a local assembly, don't just choose anyhow. You have to seek the face of God, because God is committed to feeding you. And your choice of where you are fed with is not your choice. It is his choice. Please, do you understand what I'm saying? Are you following what I'm saying? The choice, you know, and for our online friends, the choice of where God will feed you is not yours to make. It is God's choice to make. So, the point is that you have to wait on God on the kind of family God need to plant you in. How many of us chose the family we were planted in when we're coming? When we're coming to this world? How many of us? Say, you know, I I don't like the family I prefer, you know? Or I don't like my family, I like your mother family. How many of us chose our family? Please, now talk to me. You didn't choose your family. God chose them for you. Now, the same way, when it comes to making proper choice of a local assembly, eh, you have to rely on God to help you out with that. Because he is committed to feeding you, and he has a particular family where he wants to feed you. So, like I was saying, a session believer must have a place where he learned that which he learns. Doctrinal sanctity is ensured when there's a notable source from which someone learns. Second Timothy chapter three, verse two, Paul was telling Peter, Timothy, he said, "And the things that thou hast had of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others now you see four generations." Paul taught Timothy. Timothy was tried to teach faithful men, abi? And the faithful men were the faithful men that Timothy would teach are those men that will be able to do what? To teach others. So, if you really want that which God has committed to your hand to stand the test of time, you must look out for faithful men. What is the sign of faithful men? Is it coming to church? No. The sign of faithful men is like this about coming to church, is about their willingness and their ability to teach others. Please, are you following what I'm saying now? Now, listening and listening very good. I look forward to that time, and I know the time is near, when, uh, scripture says, we will not just be with Pastor Sam alone. Because, you know, by the grace of God, we'll be having branches. Uh, scripture says, we will not be with Pastor Sam, so so so in that place. Do you understand what I'm saying now? Now, Pastor so so so has been properly taught by Pastor Sam, such that Pastor so so so can now teach others. The same thing Pastor Sam had taught him. And the others that Pastor so so so is not teaching, eh, they will be able to also teach others. That is how you preserve doctrinal sanctity. That's how you prevent doctrinal adulteration. The reason why we're having doctrinal adulteration in the body of Christ today is because there is no preservation of that baptism of teachings. So, um, have a tos. Instead of me to faithfully commit the same thing to people, and we have our own. Do you understand it? That's the problem. That's the problem. So, you must have a a a feeding center, a feeding source from which you have been fed, and you and you must be willing to also feed others. Because that is how you preserve doctrinal sanctity. Now, let's go back to that second chapter four. I believe you just want to explain it, that's chapter four. Um, we're reading second Timothy chapter four, verse 14 to 17. I really want to explain that, uh, before we go into our questions. Now, Paul told Timothy in verse 15, he said, "And that from a child thou has known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus." Now, all scripture, now let me quickly diverge a little and explain this. Now, there are two words in the Bible used for scripture. And those two words, they meant technically different things. Now, the word used in verse 15 is the word grammar. Say grammar. Now, the word grammar is a word in the Bible that connotes letter. Something letter. A letter that is written. You know, throughout the time it was used in the Bible, I think 15 times in the Bible, from Luke to John, to Acts, to Romans, to second Corinthians, to Galatians, to second Timothy chapter three, verse 15, all the time that was used, it means it was only translated once as scripture. Every other word means letter, it means bill, it means something written. So, for example, for example, what Paul is telling Timothy here is that there are things that have been written. things that have been written. And you've read them. Letters that have been written, and you've read them, and they've made you wise unto salvation. So that let me give you an example of grammar in our generation. An example of grammar is the book we are using for life class. After salvation, what's next with the grammar? Are you getting what I'm saying now? Now, it's a letter, it's something written. Now, that that means that everything there is not necessarily inspired by God. It's not God that spoke everything written in that place to us, to love many people. The book written by Baba Oye, second, get lost. A…
