This Gospel an x-ray of what we believe - PASTOR SAM MAKANJU — Pastor Sam Makanju
Pastor Sam Makanju teaches that Jesus addressed the root nature of sin, not just actions, to transform believers.
The hand trials of the word giveth light. It giveth understanding unto the simple. There is a place where the undiluted word of God is shared. Welcome to this brings up church who preach and teach the full gospel, who demonstrate the power of the spirit to inspire, equip, and impart believers for the fulfillment of the great commission. Come and worship with us. We are the burning ones, era of a new dawn. The main problem that we have as men is a problem of sin, our sins. And let me quickly explain this. Sin is not just an action. Sin is also a nature. In fact, sin is not primarily an action. Sin is primarily a nature. It is the nature that produces the actions. So the problem many of us are, the problem we had in the Old Testament was that they were dealing with the actions, they were not dealing with the nature. And what Jesus came to do was that He dealt with the nature, not just with the actions. Please do you understand? Imagine a a a stream having a river source, having a spring where it's coming from. Now, if you want to stop the water from flowing, if you want to stop the water from from to to try of all you must introduce is to go to the source and do what? And block it. When you block the source of the water, what happens? Hey? The water will try to wash, we stop you know at times when you block the source, the water will still be flowing. still be still be flowing. But after maybe if it's a big water, after a few days, the water will wash. Would you stop? The water will stop after a few days. So, we must act down and understand, we must come to the consciousness that what Jesus did with is the root cause of sin which is what? The nature. Say the nature. The nature The nature. So, in the Old Testament they dealt only with the actions. Somebody will lie and they will say go and kill so so so. Somebody will commit adultery, they will say go and stone the person to death because actually they are dealing only with the action. But Jesus know knew that to to solve the problem of sin, He has to deal primarily, not just with the actions, but what? With the nature. The nature of sin. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. For we that are just coming, we are doing our Sunday school. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. So, it's a class and we'll give room for questions and ask questions after the class before we start the service fully. By the grace of God. So, the topic is the gospel. This gospel. This gospel. That's the that's the topic of what we have. This gospel. That's what we're looking at. We're looking at what the gospel message is all about. And uh we understand in the gospel. There are times you just need to get it over and over again. What do you really believe? What is the effect of your profession or your confession on you as a person? You would say you believe Jesus. What effect should that thing have on you as an individual? So, those are the things we're looking at in our Sunday school class today. And I'm believing the Lord that uh after this teaching, you will gain more light as touching your Christian faith in the name of Jesus. Amen. So, where are we? We have the fact that Jesus did not just die for our actions, He died for what? The nature of sin. So, we read first Corinthians chapter 15. If you have your Bible, you can open it. First Corinthians chapter 15, we've read verse 1 to 3, how Christ died for our sins according to scripture. So, Christ died for our sin. And we've read Romans chapter 4, verse 21 to 25. Um, we read verse 25 said, who was delivered for our offenses. So, let's know where we are. And we are explaining the fact that this thing called offense, which is called sin is dual faced. It's both an action and what? And a nature. Say nature. So, sin is an action and nature. And we said sin is not just primarily an action, it's primarily a nature. A nature. Listen, if you don't deal with the nature of sin, you will always be atoning for the actions of sin. That is why in the Old Testament, scripture says they they they always do a sacrifice that bring the remembrance of sin because that is what? Because when you when you come to this Sabbath, you're a fine sacrifice. When you are coming into Sabbath, you have committed some sins, eh? That you live to what? To offer another sacrifice. So, in the old days, come to deal with action causing because you have not dead with the nature. Causing. So, what did Jesus do for us? Jesus went to the cross first and foremost to deal with the nature. That is why He did that. Look, Jesus did not die in an accident. If what if He just want to pay for our sin, eh? He would just sleep and die. But He had to die on the cross. There must be a nailing to the cross. Because in the nailing to the cross, there was a nailing of the nature of sin. He was saying this, that the body of sin might be destroyed. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Please, do you understand? Now, listen, if you don't understand what Jesus has done for us, eh? It is done. It is paid for. But because you have not on you've been understand it and you don't or because you don't know it, or maybe you know it should be understand it. When you understood it, you didn't believe it. If you don't do any of these three, you can't appropriate what has been done on your behalf to you. That means, even though Jesus has paid for it, you will still be paying for your sin by yourself. Even though you know that Jesus has died on the cross and died with the nature of sin, the nature of sin will still be actively active in our lives. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. So, that is why listen, that is why in in in the old olden days, when when you see someone who gets saved and you do thorough Bible study in their life, they will be in fact, when when I was in the country, the question they used to ask us is this. When you got saved, what changed in your life? You know, it's not about the Christianity that is all around today that, you know, the way you you came out for an altar. The way you came for an altar, you say when you went back. In fact, some of them do baptism. The way you were baptized, you say you will come out. So, you will be filled with the Holy Ghost. They say they still speak in tongues, but there's no change in their lives. So, those fathers they will ask you, in fact, they they will ask you, are you born again? Say yes. So, what the next question, when you had that feeling, what you learned, they said, when you got born again, what changed in your life? Because, actually, when someone have an encounter with the cross, there is something that must change in that person's life. The thing change not because the person is trying to change it. The thing change because actually the person understood what has happened to him. And because he understood what has happened to him, something on the inside didn't change. The person does not automatically become perfect. No. But the person knew 100%, eh? That something had changed. Billy Graham was asked one day, they said, when you got born again, did you cry? Did you cry on the uh at the pews? Said no. Said no, I didn't cry. Said, but actually, there is a sober, remorseful reflection that came upon me. That when I came out and I confessed Jesus, when I was coming back, I knew that the Billy Graham that fell out is not the Billy Graham that is going back. But today, many of us, it's easy for us to recite the poem. So, say that Father, Jesus, Jesus, that one is because we don't we don't come to understanding what really happened. So, we just recite the poem. And when we recite the poem, some even be eating sugar when they are reciting the poem. Some even be laughing. In fact, some will be Yeah, you have to stop them at the induction camp. Some will take selfie. Yes. As they will be taking selfie, I'm telling you I saw it. Baba announced it that we must you are coming to. In those days, when you receive Jesus, they will back you. Three days after, you are still remorse. But today, you are coming to us. You are saying Jesus is service center is on point. Our generation, it has been, it has been. So, what I'm saying is that, sincerely speaking, you know, and look, this, yes, as much as I believe that you you you don't get born again twice. You know, because they say you don't get born again twice. You you know, because they say you don't get born again. Twice. But I believe also, that even though you don't get born again twice, eh, you can get you can be dedicated over and over and over again. And I'll explain what I mean by rededication. That you get dedicated does not mean you just got born again. No. It's just like the day they give birth to a child. And you got to say, after you give birth to this child, you thank God he is born in the hospital. And you just see hospital, hospital. Yes, it's yourding this. It's possible because there is another hospital in the house where they will took holiday. And to feed the stomach of that child. But today, many of us who don't want our children to make can go. So, when you get back to a child, can you tell the child, look at the hospital, you must tell the bless you get what man. Because when you want to sacrifice the child, where will you go to? When you want to give education, where will you go to? Do you understand? So, there are things in our lives where you accept Jesus as a personal savior and savior which is beautiful. Well, some say you don't give your life to Jesus. Yes, I said yes, at salvation you give your life to Jesus, but at consecration you give your life to Jesus. You know, at the point where you accept Jesus as a person, at that point, you're not even the governor yet. But you have to come to a point in your in your work with God, sir. Now, where you say Jesus, I'm giving my life to what? To you. When you are saying that Jesus, look, I I I've known you've done something for me and I've accepted what you've done for me. But you can't come into this point in my work with you, that I'm saying that everything about me, my money, my time, my house space, my relationship with people, everything I'm giving to what? To you. At that time, what comes first is not your comfort. What comes first is you, Jesus. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. You know the problem we have in the body of Christ today, eh? Many of us, we've accepted Jesus, but we've not given our lives to Jesus. All you need to do to get saved is to accept Jesus as a personal and savior. But all you need to do to be relevant in the kingdom is to give your life to Jesus. Let me say it again. All you need to do, eh, to get saved is to accept Jesus, eh? Whatever you want to get, eh? Is to say Amen. But, to be relevant in this kingdom, those who are useful in the kingdom throughout from Genesis to Revelation are those who came to a point in their life and say, I give my life to Jesus. Maybe there's some who are able to only that here. You don't get. They they took they took the things of the kingdom first beyond their own pleasure. Anytime you have to choose between kingdom, and when I say kingdom, I mean the church, the brethren, anytime they have to choose between the kingdom and their own personal pleasure. They will say even though it's not convenient for me, I will choose the kingdom over my pleasure. Do you think it was easy for Moses in Hebrews 11 to say it denied himself the pleasure of Egypt? As as an Israelite, let me explain the the Old Testament correlation of our salvation. As an Israelite to take or in in a long way. The same way when you are when you get born again in a long way. But believe that over 3 million Jews left Egypt. Out of the 3 million that left Egypt, only two of them enter the promised land. And we ever ask yourself, is the God of the is the God of the two that entered the promised land? Is it different from the God of the over 2 million people that died in the wilderness? Is it different? What the difference between the two of them is that some people chose to stay with God and all know to God's report. And some people said, ah, I want my own better life, oh. Okay, we can't overcome this land. Let us sit down here, get it for ourselves. They were convenient in the wilderness and they died in the wilderness. And I'm the reason for this class today is to challenge our Christian faith. is to challenge our work with God. In fact, this morning as I was yesterday, rather, as I was meditating on the scripture, the Lord brought the scripture to my heart, I was going to read it. Even as to challenge myself, and ask myself, say, no, I'm not I'm not I'm not growing at the pace at which I should be growing. So, this morning is not just to say, are you born again, you are not born again. No, that's not the point. The point this morning is to come to a place where the nature of course sin is going to be dealt with in our lives. Not just the consequences, listen as a believer, if you commit any sin today and you go to to God's what scripture says in 1st John chapter 1 verse 8 is that if you confess your sin, is what? faithful and just to forgive. What's the confession to what to do? So, if I lie, all I need to do is to go to God and say, God, I'm sorry, what you said about life is true, I've lied, but it's wrong, please so forgive me. And God in His mercy, He'll forgive. But living that is very good. Even though you were forgiven, a man wrote something on on on what's up on Facebook yesterday, a very good Christian man who got main view said the the the the the the story of the cross talks about two dimension. It talks about love, God's love for man and trust, God's trust, Jesus's trust in God. That God you can die you are faithful enough to raise you from the dead. Are you getting what I'm saying now? The same way it applies to you. There's a two dimension to a relation, a relation of love. God loves every man. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. The man that is sinning on the street, God loves him? Yes or yes? Yes. That, God loves you yes or yes? Yes. But God doesn't trust everyone. Let me say it again. God loves every man, eh? So, God, God loves every one, but God doesn't what? He doesn't trust everyone. Because trust is about commitment to a man. So, when God says, I love you, and He has committed Himself to you by dying on the cross. When you accept Him, you come into relationship with Him, then you start building trust with God. So, that trust is not built over a night. That trust is built as you walk with God. So, if you're a Christian that everything you do, as I'm talking now, I'm I'm I'm being challenged myself. I felt God is talking to us as as a church. If you're a Christian that all you do in your Christian work is that, I don't give you much. You just you live your life the way you like. Eh? God still loves you. God still loves you. God still loves you. God still love you. God still forgive you, you know? But when it comes to doing correct work in the kingdom, God cannot trust you. When it comes to having a generation impact, eh? God cannot what? He cannot trust you. There are many Israelites, sir. There are many Israelites in Goshen. God left all those places. He came to the the palace of the man called Pharaoh to raise a man he could trust. A man that saw the wealth of Egypt and said, no, I'm not going to take this wealth, I'm going to take the suffering of God's people. You know, you know many of us are in Joseph's position, eh? Moses's position. All we say is that, no problem, when I become the Prime Minister, or when I become the Pharaoh, eh? I will not free my people. That is in our generation, that is our testing. That is what God to that matter. My father by the name, eh? My father by the name. My father by the name. My father by the name. It doesn't work that way. The plans of God differ from the plans of man. And until look you can't take you can't take God's gift. You can't take the devil's gift and give the glory to God. You can't take the devil's path and end up in the…
