Hermeneutics - Pastor Karounwi Damilola — Pastor Karounwi Damilola Gabriel
Hermeneutics is a teaching on biblical interpretation by Pastor Karounwi Damilola Gabriel, urging accurate, contextual study of Scripture.
Thank you, Lord Jesus. So, tonight, we are doing amentics. Do you know amentics? Ooh, the way they are looking at me. We are doing amentics, all right? H e r m e n e u t i c h e r m e n e u t i c. You can then decide to add 's' to wish amentic or amentics. All right? Amentics is simply um the method or methodology or principle of interpretation of scriptures. All right? It is a is actually a cause in theology, all right? So, I decided to use the word amentics, all right? Um You know why we have to visit this aspect? Because on elder interpretation of scriptures can be detrimental to a generation. Are you following me? You're not here. On elder interpretation of scriptures can be detrimental to what? A not a person. I said a generation, all right? Because you can pedal a world, you can pedal a doctrine that does not have its root cause, its basis, its foundation, and principles in the pages of scriptures, and a generation can begin to run with it. And listen to me. Unfortunately for us in our time, we think every time we are shouting, we are making noise as a man of God is speaking. That thing is accurate. You can be shouting to an inaccurate doctrine. Are you following me? You can be making noise and be jumping. And yet, what that man is peddling does not have its basis in the world of God. That's why listen to me, we must show our scriptures. We You must see the world. I was telling a brother of mine was was asking us a question when we were coming, all right? So, I was telling him that unfortunately in our time, we assume that everything we see in scriptures is literal. No, sir. All right? And I was telling them that listen, the language of scripture though inspired of the spirit, but was spoken through men. That means that language has condescended into the language of man. And as long as it has condescended into such language, it it will take divine initiation, divine instruction to understand the nitty-gritty of the world, all right? Because you can actually give meaning to the world outside of the context. You can begin to down Listen to me. Not all that you share on pulpit is You can People can shout. But sir, is a twisting on heavens integrity. Are you following me? That's why we need to learn this culture. It's very important. Don't just say Yesterday, sir, you can ve the what you received because you can receive from the flesh. You can receive from the tone of your own enticement. You can receive, listen to me, and you will receive it as revelation. To you, you'll be say, ah, God spoke to me. Sir, if it does not have its basis in the contextual analysis of the word of God, I'm saying to you that you have said something outside the box. It is foul play. And it's a twisting on the arch beat of heaven because you have you have come to a point that you are beginning to pedal a word that does not um sink with whatever intense. Listen to me, what is said must always be traceable to what is written. Hello, do you hear that? Yes, sir. What is said must always, hear my word and hear it, must always be traceable to what is written. You see, let me tell you something. When you teach accurate doctrine, the art of the Father is is is joyous. Are you me? Yes, sir. Jesus can even walk into the meeting and smile at you. That, thank you, my son. So, that's what Las Menora was sharing towards that we have we have learned some things over the years. But we can see that those things are not consistent with the world. Is that true? Yes, sir. And I showed up the scriptures. What they told us all along is that Adam fell from the image of God into a living soul. But we saw from scriptures that Adam was never at any time the image of God, he was made a living soul. You can see how a doctrine can kill a generation, if you do not rescue yourself on time and go back into the accurate study of the word of God. Unfortunately in our time and day, we do not give ourselves to the accurate doctrine of the word, all right? So, I told us one time that in our time we give meaning to scriptures instead of extracting meaning from scriptures. Because, listen, there's nothing you can give to the scriptures that the scripture does not afford. If the scripture does not afford it, you can't give it. Are you me? Yes, sir. You can't. See, I was studying judges yesterday, and this revelation came, it just used it for prayer. Oh, use it for one battle, something. So, ah! And it's not consistent with what the word, some people, some people, no matter the scripture that you quote, they can look for battle out of it. Even when it's so so plain, that it's talking about love. He said, that love, that love is a trap. Is a trap? Are you me? Why? Because they have been wired and fashioned in that light, in that dimension. That's why many Listen to me, you will you will see it and you will remember that I told you, that the judgment seat of Christ will be more terrible. Yes. No problem, we know you will escape hell. No problem. But it does not mean that you escape the white throne judgment. That every one of us who will sit down and those days that you thought error, if it were in the days of your ignorance, it will be it will be winked at. But not the days that you knew. You will sit like this and they will begin to ve all your doctrine. It's not that you just enter heaven and you just sit down like this. I said people are I knew the mother won't come. I knew. Amen. Amen. Is that they will begin to judge you the words that you received that you didn't practice. You'll be judged. Preachers, hear me, because some of these messages will ply. Preachers, you will be judged for your laziness in studies. Because your laziness in studies have actually mass-produced a people of hero, that you have taught them that which is not consistent with the word of God. People can shout. Are you following me? Yes, sir. I was telling that when we when we were coming, when the when the Bible says that evening and morning was the first day, the Bible was not referring to evening and morning in time. So, you don't interpret that scripture as the evening and morning of time. No, sir. The language of heaven is different. So, you have to go back and study. What is God saying about evening and morning? Just like God was saying that, you are not the children of the night, but the children of the day. Is he talking about the the sunrise and sunset? No, the day is a person. The night is a person. So, you don't interpret scriptures as day. Do you understand? Yes, sir. They are metaphors in scriptures. Oxymoron. Dictions. All right? Proverbs. Hyperbole. Simile and what have you? I'm coming gradually. You see, it will be in the record of heaven that I taught this. Mm. That's why I told us that the Lord said to me that I must teach the old council of truth. Only no matter that I won't teach on giving. But I did last meeting. Is that true? Yes, sir. It will be in the record of heaven that I taught you. And when you'll be judged, and when I also be judged, we will see it that it will look as though there is a screen with which your work will be vetted. Are you me? Yes, sir. You say, ah, but how will this happen? There's there's a facility, there's an infrastructure. All right? It won't take time like in time that you will kill like this. The moment you stand before the presence, the fire will test all your works. From the time that you knew. So, the works that stands will not be burned. All right? It's just like when you when they apply x-ray or gamma ray on your body, it can read what is within. Is that true? Yes, sir. To a naked eyes, you cannot see what is within your body. But when you apply an external factor, it will read it accurately. You You will see somebody who is pregnant, they apply, you will see the baby in your womb. Is that true? Yes, sir. Even when your stomach has not started bulding. Are you following me? Yes, sir. That's why we must labor. We must what? Must labor. And this is why I ensure that I labor in the world. Because I do not want to teach my generation error. And we ensure that we show you that even somebody who is a fool, we see that this one is in the Bible. Have you? That if you are so foolish, you can see from the word of God, no no no no no. Glory to God. Hallelujah. I saw you praying the other day. I saw somewhere y'all. Ah ah, you are not unfortunately, hmm. Okay. Some of you your diaper is consistent. Your diaper. Amen. Don't worry, they will keep changing for you. We'll meet We'll meet at judgment. We'll meet. This is not to scare you, this is a reality. Are you following me? Yes, sir. It's a reality. I'm only trying to prepare you. Glory to God. Hallelujah. So, we are looking at amentics like I said earlier on, all right? And this is the methodology of scriptural interpretation, all right? So, we are going to we are going to check um some of the important faculties that we can deploy in ensuring that we are accurate. In ensuring that we are what? Accurate. It's very important. I don't know how you are going to learn today if you don't write. I don't know. Because even me, I have to read, all right? You know, these things are long, so I took my time though, I've done that over the over the months, all right? Over the months. So, how do we begin? How do we begin? How do we begin? All right? Are we blessed, all right? Yes, sir. If I close now, I'm I'm okay. Is that true? Yes, sir. Okay, can we begin now? Are we are we prepared? Thank you, Holy Spirit. Um All right. Now, I I'd like you to know that the compendium of scriptures, all right? The compendium of scriptures is actually um um comprises of the compendium of scriptures comprises of words spoken by various entities. We are going to begin from that place. It is funny for you to assume that the scriptures the totality of scriptures is the word of God. Anybody confused? Yes, sir. It is funny to assume that the totality of scriptures is what? Is the word of God. You know why? Because various various entities laid their part. In that script, various players were involved. In scriptures, God spoke. In scriptures, men spoke. In scriptures, angels spoke. In scriptures, animals spoke. In scriptures, Satan spoke. Are you following me? Yes, sir. So, we must understand this. It's very important. In scriptures, flesh spoke. So, for you to assume that all that is in the word is the word of God is a folly. And can I talk to you? That of all these entities that spoke, the only accurate one is God. Of course, there were times that angels spoke on behalf of God. Of course, there were times that men spoke on behalf of God. But listen to me, their speaking must also be vetted to the degree that it consists of the nature of God. Are you following me? Yes, sir. Yes. For example, there were things that Moses spoke on behalf of God as it were. That when Jesus came, he began to readdress it because they were not complete truth. Listen, if you do not know the know this, you will eat everything you climb and sink that even men of God say on the pulpit because you cannot decipher and you cannot differentiate from what God is saying and what men said. So, he spoke so many things as it were on behalf of God, but Jesus came and began to re-address and said, you have heard, but I have said to you. That truth for truth. I for I. But I have said this, that love your enemies. Is that true? Yes, sir. Pray for people say, you know, you know, we are we are so unintelligent in scriptures that people say, um when Jesus said, we should pray for our enemies, he didn't specify the kind of prayer. Uh-uh. You can see scriptural illiteracy because he's you're an illiterate. Because what Jesus said is plain in white and black. I'm sorry to say. You don't even have to engage the spirit to understand it. It says pray for not pray against. Are you me? Yes, sir. Ah. He say, pray for your he said, we don't You didn't tell us the kind of prayer, so I can can turn my back and shoot them because because it's good. Amen. Jesus said, Moses said, tooth for tooth. Listen to me, listen to me. What you don't know is that there's a way your enemy can be under your foot. Are you me? Yes, sir. The scriptural pattern that Jesus taught us is that you pray for them. Does that mean that they can't fall? Yes, they will. But pray for them. Anyone of them that dress you, they will still fall. But Jesus said, pray for them. Are you are you following me? Yes, sir. Because of scriptural illiteracy, I've told us one time about um eating the coal of fire. People don't understand. They say, so well, I when I eat the coal of fire on my enemy, it means I want to destroy them. But that's a wrong theology, because we do not give ourselves to studies. Eating the coal of fire is a friends they use in Israel. And that friends is actually for showing mercy. So, somebody is going in the evening to fetch coal of fire and as the person put pan upon her head, going in the village to fetch fire, she couldn't get she couldn't get fire and people saw her on the road say, ah, no fire. They will go and eat coal of fire on her. They will give her fire so that she can use. That means they were showing mercy. Do you understand it? You don't understand. Now, you want to cook in the evening. So, you were looking for where to fetch coal of fire to cook, but you couldn't get. And as the person put pan upon her head, going in the village to fetch fire, she couldn't get fire. And people saw her on the road. They said, "Ah, no fire." They will go and eat coal of fire on her.
