Hymn xvii – COME aside and rest a while | C&S English Hymnary

Come aside and rest a while. I know your weariness and your trouble, Wipe the sweat from your faces, And take strength again in My strength. Stand apart from the pleasures of the world, Come for a fellowship the world does not know, Someone is here with Me and the Father, With Me and the Father your company is complete. Come and tell Me all you have done, Tell of your victories and your falls. I know how hard the work of the spirit is, The beautiful crown comes with tears. Come and rest, the journey is very long, Weariness will take you, you will faint on the way The bread of life is here, come and eat, Here is the water of life, come and drink. Go out anew from the Lord, Go back to work until evening: You have not lost the hour you spent On My teaching and on heavenly rest. AMEN
