Prophet Cherub Obadare teaches believers how to recognize the true enemy, avoid spiritual strongholds, and stay vigilant in the fight of spiritual warfare.

Understanding Spiritual Warfare Part 1 — Prophet Cherub Obadare
You are all the mother. Oh my. You and I, Jesus. You are all the mother. <noise> Father, we thank you. For your love and faithfulness upon our lives. Blessed be your holy name. We worship you, Lord. Let your word come with to us with great power and understanding, in Jesus name we pray. Let me celebrate the choir. Celebrate them. Please drop that curtain. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Father, we thank you. I want to welcome everyone of us to the month of September. The month of September will be a month of testimony for you in the name of Jesus. If you are the one I'm praying for, let your Amen be the loudest. You will have testimony in September and throughout the year, in the name of Jesus. We are going to be looking at something new this morning, by God's grace as the Lord has laid upon my spirit. I like you to write it down, understanding spiritual warfare. Write it down, understanding spiritual warfare. Uh many of us are fighting like a man throwing his fist into the air and not hitting at a target because we don't understand spiritual warfare. Many of us are fighting and yet it's as if your fight is not leading to victory because you don't understand who exactly is your enemy. You can actually be fighting and you are fighting the wrong person. It is common in church today that when we fight, we are not fighting the real person. And many of us have always forget, especially when we become comfortable and when things start going rosy for many of us, we always forget that Christianity is a warfare. Yeah, many of us have been drawn in you know, in pleasure, in our comfort zone and we are asleep forget that we have an enemy that is looking for an opportunity to just get you. And that you won yesterday doesn't mean it's not looking for you today. And so, because you won yesterday, many of us go to sleep and said I defeated the devil yesterday. The Bible say he came to Jesus, after Jesus defeated him, the Bible say and he left him for a while. Even Jesus, his first victory was not the victory on the cross. It was the victory he got after he came out of wilderness. Can you imagine that Jesus, I mean Jesus fasting for 7 days, I mean 40 days and 40 nights. And the first person to approach him to tempt him was the devil. And so we go to sleep too often, thinking it is just okay. Listen to me, if you know the arsenals assigned to bring only you down, demons that have been assigned. Never let him get married until you bring him down. When you get married, they launch other sets of demons. Ensure he commit adultery. They follow you. They look for where you are too relaxed. Put temptations around you. Many of us are the kind of spiritual warfare we fight is not the spiritual warfare that deals with spirits. We are fighting human beings. Like some of us, you are fighting your brethren and the people you are fighting. The Bible says they are the adversary. The devil is not a dress. Your adversary, your enemy as the Bible specified, is not a man. There was no place the Bible say a man is your enemy. He only uses the instrumentality of men. That was why Paul was when he said pray that God will deliver me from wicked and unreasonable men. He was talking about instruments in the hand of the devil. And so because we don't know how to we don't really understand this warfare, we fight among ourselves, we've we envy ourselves, hatred among ourselves, fighting the wrong enemy. You will never win that way. That's not how to fight. Apostle Paul was saying he said, I have fought the good fight of faith. There is no believer, he said I have finished my course. Listen to me, there is no believer that finishes well or that we finish well that will not fight. We must fight. In fact, you may not know you are in a fight already. You are in a fight. Everyday you wake up, there's a fight. But we don't see it as we are in. Some of us romance what we should be fighting. Help me, Holy Spirit. The weapon of our warfare, they are not carnal. They are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Listen to me, before something becomes a stronghold, it is a foot hold. You didn't fight it when you should fight it, so it becomes a stronghold. Whatever is a stronghold in your life has overcome you and has overpowered you. Tell your neighbor say we are in a fight. Yeah. Stop fighting the wrong enemy. Your wife is not your enemy. Your husband is not your enemy. Your brother's brethren in church, they are not your enemy. I like to show you a few scriptures. Um, let's look at 1st Peter very important chapter 5, and let's look at it. And um, let's look at it from verse 6, very important. Humble yourself therefore, under the mighty hand of God. That he may exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you. Verse 8, very important, be sober. Give me verse 8, stay alert. That's the word. Stay alert. Watch out. Watch out. For your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Watch out. Now that word proudly to proud proud, proud, to move. Like have you ever seen maybe you are watching in a movie where a lion attacks a prey. He can be at a distance prowling, gradually. Gradually. Until they pray, have lost consciousness of the presence of that lion. That's why the Bible described he said like this the only place in the Bible, the devil was described. It was not described like it was an attitude of a lion, depicted how a lion attacks his prey. I used to watch this animal um channel where you see antelopes eating innocently. And a lion would have watched from afar. He will not shout. He will not run. He will he will he will blend with the grass. They will be eating the grass and coming close, not knowing they are getting close to the enemy. He said that is how the devil behaves. He knows how to stay in a corner where you will not notice he is there. The Bible call him tricky, subtle. So, like a lion, watch and attack his prey. That's how that's his attitude, that's how. And so, let me tell you something, you may not know, the devil watched you every day. Every day, you are you are a target is watching you. When God was asking him, he said, have you seen my my servant Job? Did he say he did not see him? He said, how will I not see? Because his work is to be monitoring people's life. He said, but it means he said, he said you have put an edge around him. Meaning he has gone to Job before. For him to tell God that you there is an edge. He said, remove the edge and you know how dangerous I am. Just remove. And God said, never touch his life. In one in 24 hours, havoc, havoc wrecked the whole of Job, Job's property, his family. In 24 hours a great man was brought down low. Believers today, we have lost consciousness of this fact. Stay alert. That was the alarm. Be be conscious of your environment. Watch out for your great enemy. He is watching out for you. Watch out for him. The devil, the devil, he prowls around like a lion, looking for someone to devour. Peter here was talking to believers, not unbelievers. He's talking he was talking to Christian. He's looking for someone to devour. Hello, listen to me, what I'm about telling you is very prophetic. We're in the last day, where there will be a great falling away. Men who have lived as heroes of faith before, they be said how is it that the mighty have fallen? And the Bible say let he that think that he stand, talking to believers. Be careful let he fall. He that think that he stand. Let me careful brethren. Things are happening. The devil knows his time is short. But believers, we are not conscious of this. He's looking for. Give me verse 9. Verse 9 of that same chapter. Stand firm against him. Another version of the Bible say, resist him. Stand firm against him. And be strong in your faith. That's why Apostle Paul called it the fight of faith. The good fight of faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. Whatever thing that you are going through privately, whatever temptation that have drawn you again and again, you have cried in the secret, you have said God killed me, kill me by doing it again. He said, all over the world, you are not the only one suffering it. Because you are not the only target. The brother was confessing to me, he said I told God I don't want to fornicate again. And I fasted. The day I broke the fast, I slept with a sister. Do you know why? Many of us are fighting us. You are not you are not to fight you. You some of you have condemned yourself. You have tried to do a lot of things. Some of you threaten your life, if I do it again. I heard of a brother who says he read in the Bible that anything that will make you go to hell, plug it out. And he he he said since that's what, some of you are already laughing. Hallelujah. And he said, the right thing for him to do is to cut his manhood, and he did it. He died. He doesn't understand what he was fighting and who he was fighting. Tell you never say we are in a fight. Stop fighting the wrong enemy. Your wife is not your enemy. Your husband is not your enemy. Your brothers, brethren in church, they are not your enemy. I like to show you a few scriptures. Um, let's look at 1st Peter very important chapter 5, and let's look at it.
