The Seeking generation 1 - Pst Samuel Makanju — Pst Samuel Makanju
Pastor Samuel Makanju urges believers to become a seeking generation, emphasizing pursuit of God’s word, blessing, and the mission to spread the gospel.
The end trains of the word giveth light, it giveth understanding unto the simple. There is a place where the undiluted word of God is shared. Welcome to the Spring Spring Church. We prove each and teach the full gospel, we demonstrate the power of the spirit to inspire, equip and impact believers for the fulfillments of the great commission. Come and worship with us. We are the burning ones, heirs of a new dawn. <noise> <singing> The </singing> spirit of God is moving. The spirit of God is moving over my heart, over my heart. In Jesus, mighty name, we have prayed. Amen. <singing> Father, </singing> all that you this morning, we declare <singing> every </singing> discouraging situation, <singing> Father, </singing> your light will shine forth in the name of <singing> Jesus. </singing> Amen. Everything that seems to look like darkness, Father, your light will shine forth from it now in the name of Jesus. <singing> Amen. </singing> And the name of Jesus be glorified. <singing> Amen. </singing> Thank you, Father. <singing> In </singing> Jesus, we have prayed. <singing> Amen. </singing> Go to one or two people and say, you're welcome to church, Hallelujah. <singing> Greet </singing> somebody, you're welcome to church. I'm glad to see your face. Oh, glory to God. Hallelujah. <singing> Hallelujah. </singing> That's the seated. <singing> Hallelujah. </singing> The Lord is our strength. Oh, once again, we want you to appreciate the presence of our mother. Mummy Alone, thank you very much. Can we celebrate God in our life? Thanks for coming around, God bless you. Thank you, thank you for all you do. Uh we thank God for giving us another grace to see this beautiful morning. What a great privilege. This morning by the grace of God, we'll be doing a series, this um today and next week Sunday, today and next week Sunday, we'll be doing the series titled, the seeking generation, the seeking generation, the seeking generation. <snort> </snort> <sigh> <gasp> In Psalms </sigh> </gasp> <music> 24 </music> In Psalm 24, in verse 5, <music> verse 6, </music> <cough> let </cough> me start from verse 3. He shall ascend unto the hill of the Lord, or he shall stand in his holy place. He that had clean hands and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, oh Jacob. This is the generation <music> of them that seek him, that seek thy </music> face, oh God of Jacob. Now, I read from verse 5, <music> </music> the person that will receive the blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation belongs to the generation of them that seek him. Hallelujah. Those who will receive blessing from the Lord, genuine blessing, lasting blessing, are men and women who are seekers, say seekers. Seekers. In Hebrews chapter 11, <music> </music> scripture says that God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. That means the reward system of God, uh in that reward system, those who receive more are seekers, are seekers. Now I want us to do a thinking. In Matthew chapter 7 verse 7, very popular verse, scripture says, ask, say watch, shall be given unto you. So that means if I ask, uh somebody is here to give to me, if I ask from the Lord, from another, he will give to me in the proportion to which I ask. If so I said, mommy, I need one million naira. She ask for 100,000 naira. She cannot give you beyond that 100,000. So scripture says, seek, and ye shall find. <music> There is a place we are going to. </music> So when you ask, there is a receiving system that there is a there is a giver that gives. Scripture says knock. Say watch? It's open. That means when you knock, there is someone at the other side that opens to you. Please look at it too. So when you knock, someone opens to you. It's only when you have somebody there, then you can't open. If nobody is there, you can't open. So when you knock, back, back, back. There's a response from the inside that knows it's open. But the beautiful is, is this now, say seek. And it's a watch? It's when you ask, we have to seek. You don't ask, there is someone that give. Knock, there's someone that's open. But seek, it says you. Fine. So, the idea of seeking, what you receive by seeking, depends on you. Please, do you understand? Let me say it again. When you ask, what you receive depends on the giver. When you knock, what you receive depends on the opener. But when you seek, what you receive depends on who? On you. When you say, "Seek," and you will find. So, the the the extent to which you want to find, is the extent to which you seek. <music> The extent </music> to which you want to find is that you do what, you do what? You seek. Look. God will to raise up in this creek, not as a asking generation. There's something wrong in asking. Not as a nothing generation. There's something wrong in nothing. But as a what? A seeking generation. Men who are after the facts of God's word. And the more they seek, the more they find. Hallelujah. You know, first Kings says, all things are <music> yours. </music> First Corinthians, all things are yours. The idea is that look, everything that God asks is at the disposal of the believer. But look, what you are to yourself depends on how much you seek. Say seek. Seek. Say seek. Seek. So this morning, look, God wants you, you know, last week we spoke about the covenant mission. What God has sent us to do. That is we spoke about our identity and our responsibility. God has sent us to declare and remove the veil of the face of the nations of the earth. And root stop onto the village removed. Very clear in the theme. Only thing is, you do that. Can you save me, oh? You will. You'll become enlightened. That's why <singing> our </singing> father's son is that, and they are the fulfillment of that prophecy. <singing> <music> When </singing> </music> <singing> <music> I </singing> </music> will get a man who will be to finish this where there are no churches, where I can see <singing> the </singing> church. It's a covenant. You will go to places where you will never find a church. And yet, you will still know that it's another church, remember. You may not be happy with the kind of duty. But it's a covenant that is still conscious. This of religion, will spread across the face of the earth. Hallelujah. So the only thing we can, is until the blood of the children of men are removed. That's what we run with. And until the earth is filled with ignorance, our work is not done. The day our work will be done in this <singing> street, </singing> is the day all the leaders of the earth are seeing the light of the gospel. Hallelujah. And should I tell you something, that <music> day, </music> the day the nation of the earth, everywhere, nations of the earth see the light of the gospel, that day Christ will come. So this thing by the mercy of God, we we start in Christ's house. Hallelujah. <applause> I'm not </applause> praying, I'm telling you what we have. This Christ come a hundred year after we are dead, they still receive the light. Hallelujah. So we are talking about the mission last week. We spoke about the mission last week, but this week, we are we are we are we are to uh uh raise a generation that will make this mission last, the way God has set it. God has proclaimed his word. Scripture says, "Once have I that spoken, twice have I heard that all power belongs to who? To God." God has spoken his word concerning us, but we have a responsibility. We have something that God has placed upon our shoulders that we must do. And the first thing God has said to us now, is that we must be a seeking generation. Why must it be? Because in God's reward system, God rewards seekers. Say seekers. <gasp> Seekers. </gasp> God rewards diligent seekers. Diligent seekers. Consistent seekers. But without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. We are the generation that seek, and we must understand what to seek and how to seek. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Let me show us from scripture <singing> <music> that </singing> </music> the acts of seeking is a noble act. In Proverbs chapter 25, let's quickly check. In Proverbs chapter 25, verse 2, scripture says, "It's the glory of God to conceal a thing, and it's the glory of man to watch? Not man, no, kings. It's the glory of kings to watch? <cheering> To </cheering> search <applause> out. </applause> To bring to four, <music> to </music> bring to uh the view of every man what was entitled in it. It is the glory of God, look at it, the glory of God to conceal a matter. That means, what makes God God, <sigh> <gasp> right? </sigh> </gasp> Is that he watch? It conceal <music> a matter. </music> God hides things. And God did not say that the glory of kings. What makes a man, a king indeed, is a what? Is that he search is out. Remember, in Revelation chapter 5, verse 6, it says, "He has made us He has made us to be kings and priests unto you." There is a priestly dimension <music> to our </music> work with God. There's a kingly dimension to it. If you work as a priest <music> and </music> you don't work as a king on earth, you will serve the Lord, but you will live as a pauper. You will serve the Lord, and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve the Lord, <music> and </music> men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will serve <music> the Lord </music> and men will ask, "Who is your God?" You will <music> serve </music> the Lord, but you will live as a pauper. You will serve the Lord <music> and men will ask, "Who </music> is your God?" You will serve the Lord, <music> and men will ask, "Who </music> is your God?" You will serve the Lord, <music> and men will ask, "Who </music> is your God?"
