THE ACTS OF THE SPIRIT — Prophet Cherub Obadare

You are the holy one. You are the holy one. When I ask the Lord Celebrate him and sit down. Celebrate the choir. Listen. We are going to have a program before the end of this year. We'll call it worship him. I feel strongly in my spirit that God want us to worship him as a church. And I'm going to be one of the worship leaders for that program. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We'll tag it, worship him. Glory to God. Hallelujah. But sometimes now I've noticed that anytime I want to preach somehow we are just moving, you know, in the direction of worship. This morning, we are going to be taking another series by the grace of God. Amen. Titled, the acts of the spirit. The acts of the spirit. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. And I'm trusting the Holy Spirit to help us see and navigate on the part of the spirit and unveil unto us the mysteries of the spirit that we may come to an understanding deeper understanding of spiritual matters. The reason for struggles and frustration of men is that they want to walk in the way of the spirit by the arm of the flesh. You will struggle. He say, "for by the arm of the flesh shall no man prevail." "By spirit," says the Lord, "is not by power nor by might, but by my spirit," says the Lord. You know, in my study, I saw in the scripture that everything God started, it started it by the spirit. Creation started by the spirit. God created heaven and earth. The spirit of the Lord waiting for execution was moving was hovering upon the surface of the earth. Waiting for God to speak that he will execute it. There be light, the spirit brought the reality. Praise God. The ministry of Jesus didn't start until the Holy Ghost showed up. There wasn't full expression of the Holy Ghost. Even with Adam. Because God had to come at the cool of the day. That is the time he experienced the fullness of the spirit and God withdrews. If the Holy Ghost was 24/7 with him, he would have discerned the voice that was speaking through Eve. Glory to God. So, he had a temporal visitation. Listen to me. The Holy Ghost was not found fully expressive and in the fullness of his capacity until the church was inaugurated. Since the since creation, Holy Ghost help me this morning. When Jesus went to Jordan, God was waiting that I may come once again upon this earth. The Bible says, "It pleases the Lord that the fullness of God be in Christ bodily." Now, may I let you know that the Holy Spirit or the spirit is not an independ independent spirit. You will not have known God the Son or God the spirit if not for redemption. The Holy Spirit is the third dimension of to explain redemption. Only. Now, listen. We will not have known him if Adam didn't fall. How how do I say it better? We will not have known him the way we know him if Adam, because he is the shorty the guarantee of the purchase possession. That you have been bought, there's a guarantee on you. And is the Holy Ghost. I want to take it granted. Help me Holy Spirit. A lot of things are coming to my mind at the same time. Thank you, Holy Spirit. And so, you will see that one of the promises, apart from the promise to save the world, one of the promises God gave was the promise of Joel chapter 2 verse 28. In the last days, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. Hallelujah. Your daughters will see visions, your sons will prophesy. That is the promise of God. But upon that promise are all promises hinted. The Bible speaking in second Corinthians chapter 1 from verse 19, give it to me. Now, I'm taking this teaching because of our Bible reading me. Praise God. We have been able to see by the grace of God in the synoptics Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, we've been able to see that Jesus Christ is the Messiah according to the account of Matthew. We've been able to see in the book of Mark the miracles, the healing power of Jesus Christ. We've been able to see in Luke the humanity of Jesus and John the divinity of Jesus. And in the book of Acts, if I have opportunity to rename Acts is what I will call it. I won't call it the act of the apostles I will call it the acts of the spirit. Because Jesus warned them. He said, "Don't try to do anything. You will receive power after the Holy Ghost." He said, "Then." So, there would not have been anything even though they have met with Jesus, they saw him eyeball to eyeball, they ate the supper with him, nothing would still have happened if the Holy Ghost didn't come. Nothing would still have happened. They would remain religious men. Another version of religion would have emerged. But what made this difference was the the spirit of the Lord came himself. That was why they didn't have religion like the Pharisee. They had a life. Hallelujah. For the son of God, Jesus Christ was preached by you was preached among you by us even by me. And Silvanus and Timotheus was not ye and nay, but in him yes. A version says, "The promises of God." He said, "Okay, verse 20." He say, "for all the promises of God in him are yes and" Praise God. Unto the glory of God by us. All the promises of God, they are yes and amen. There is no no in Christ. As far as is within the jurisdiction of the provision of the kingdom. Nothing like no. And I have told you before, it's an error. It's a fallacy to say God didn't answer my prayer. Why? Verse 21. Now, he now he which establisheth us with you in Christ, has anointed us, anointed us in God. Let's go. Who had also sealed us and given us the earnest of the spirit in our hearts. Verse 22. No, go back to verse 23, 22. Who had also given us who had also sealed us and given us the earnest of the spirit in our hearts. Can you give it to me in NIV, TLB or any other version? I want to show you. He said, "He has given us the Holy Spirit as the guarantee that every other promise that he has promised us will come to pass. That you have the Holy Ghost is the assurance that eternal life is in you. Have you ever wondered how you will be lifted in a little in a second? As soon as the trumpet sounds, the Holy Ghost. He has also sealed us and given us the spirit as a as a down payment in our heart, as an assurance that every other promise He made this promise to give us the Holy Ghost. He gave us the Holy Ghost. He said, "If you can have the Holy Ghost, you will have every other promise." So, is the guarantee, the grantor the shorty. Can you read that version? Let me hear you. Yes. Yes as a deposit. What is Hey. You see why one of the things God hated most is to doubt him. I can't imagine you carrying Holy Ghost and you are still doubting the possibilities of God. The guarantee the shorty of the things to come. That's why the Bible said, "Eyes have not seen the ears of men has not heard, neither the mind of men conceived what God has for us, for they have been revealed to us by this spirit. The spirit." For the spirit of the Lord searches the deep things of God, and they are revealed to us. We know all things. It is only what we don't want to know, but we know all things. Hallelujah. And so the acts of the apostle Apostle said, "We are not sufficient of ourselves." Our sufficiency is of God, who has made us able ministers. So everything you see in the foundation or in the early church is as a result of the spirit. Have you wondered at times in your own life how you were able to achieve some things? In by your intelligence, you know you are not capable. I can tell you several times where this flesh has failed me, and all of a sudden, the strength of the spirit flows in. I was in Lagos one year. There was no car then. And I was held in hold up strongly. Now, I forgot my sermon notes because of the pressure and stress. It's not good to go to the pulpit stressed. You won't preach well. Except the spirit helps you. Few minutes to the time I will be called it was a crusade. Few minutes to the time I will be called to the pulpit, I was still dozing. So tired. And I pray one single prayer. I said, "Holy Spirit, if only you will help me today." Do you know how frail we are without the spirit? How empty, how useless, how weak without the spirit? And so, all of a sudden, I had a short vision. As soon as I said that prayer, they were about calling me. The man that was swed through this me was already on the pulpit, and I saw a short vision. And I saw just a hand with a pure bottle of water with a straw in it and put it in my mouth. It was just only a sip. I wish I drank everything. And I drew from the strength of the spirit. It was awesome that day. The power of God broke out. They noticed they took notice of them that they were unlearned, but they could not they could not deny the backing of the spirit. They could not deny it that these men carried something we didn't have. They have the letters for the apostles at the spirit. The Bible say, "Letters kill it, but the spirit gives life." was telling them, he said, "He will guide you into all truth." So anybody can pick this book and read. You might not you may not be guided if you don't have the Holy Ghost. See, you see an Islamic cleric quoting the Bible anyhow to deceive people. They are not guided. This book must be opened unto you to see what is there. At times some of you think we're so prepared to come preach. We do our own little effort. But as I stand before you, as you're hearing is opening my eyes. So your ears open my own eyes open and I tell you the things I see. At times I go listen to sermons that I preach, and I'll be asking, "Who spoke?" Many years ago, I was listening to one of my messages, and subconsciously, I said, "Yeah, God bless you, pastor. God know you." Because I knew what was coming wasn't me. The meaning of that is called utterance. The Holy Ghost is the giver. I will give you a wisdom and a mouth with that you can become anything he wants you to be. And that gift is not only for for preaching. Even for business negotiations. Praise God. So, God wanted a family, and the only way to establish a family on earth is that the spirit of of God himself will dwell with mortals. He wanted to relate with men, and the only way to make it possible. That was what Adam, that was Now, the Holy Ghost would have entered into Adam if he had ate of the fruit of life. That was that would be when he would be fully established. Both a mortal and immortal. So, the intention of God. So, church became the family of God. And how did the church started? The church did not start in the synoptics. The church did not start at the ascension of Christ. The church started at the dissension of the Holy Ghost. He told them, he said, "Wait." Give me Acts chapter 1 verse 5 quickly. Acts chapter 1 verse 5. Are you learning something? Acts 1:5. "For John the Baptist with water, but you will but for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Not as many days from now." Verse 6. Verse 6. So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, at this time, you are at Lord, at this time, are you restoring the kingdom of Israel?" Praise God. Let's move further because of our time. I'm trying to take it gradually so that we'll be able to cover a lot of things. So, there is no church without the Holy Spirit. Let me say it. Say, "There is no church without the Holy Spirit." Say it after me, "You can have a crowd without the Holy Spirit, you can't have a church." That people are gathered in a place and they call it the temple of God does not make it the temple of God. What makes it the temple of God is the indwelling of the spirit. So, in Acts chapter 2, they were gathered, listen to me. It has to be a rushing movement because it was what God has yearned for since creation, that he will put himself in man. And it could not happen in the synoptics because it could only enter one man. Jesus. So, Jesus cannot be his only family. He must come with fellow brethren. If you are here as a fellow brother in the Lord, shout hallelujah. So, that was why Jesus was telling them, "It pays you that I go." Because there's a multidimensional distribution that is coming. That you will be where I am. And so in Acts chapter 2, 120 brethren at this first encounter, until now, the world has not recovered from it. Generation after generation, the Holy Ghost have lifted, he had lifted frail weak men like me. If you know me before I had the Holy Ghost, you won't like me. You won't even like my English. The Holy Ghost helped my English. Holy Ghost, thank you. I I school in the barracks. Where broken English is what we celebrate. When the Holy Ghost came, it started panbating my tongues. Everything started I listen, my intelligence just rise. I became I became I came from the back of the class to the top of the class. I was given scholarship. Tell me something the apostles wanted in the book of Acts that they didn't get. Show me one thing, there was nothing. So, crowd does not make a church. That a lot of people are in a place, does it make it a church? Yeah. Everything may be there, ambiance, speakers, keyboard, the setting, what makes church a church, is the Holy Ghost. Shout hallelujah. I'd like to let you know that the new creation that you are, that I am, we are a product of the spirit. The Bible speaking in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 10, says, "For we are God workmanship. We are God's edifice created how by the spirit in Christ. We are a product out of the spirit. We came out of him. We are God's workmanship. Created by the spirit in Christ. Hallelujah. 1 Corinthians chapter 5 says, "When a man is in Christ, is a new creation." It happens only by the spirit. Do you know why? 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 2, "No one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Ghost." Yeah. It said by the Holy Ghost. John chapter 3 from verse 5, give it to me quickly. John 3:5. John 3:5. Jesus answered, "I assure you, unless someone is born of water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Go on verse 6. Whatever is born of the flesh is the flesh. Whatever is born of the spirit. So, that's why you yourself you carry in you the spirit of God. The Bible says the spirit of the Lord bears witness with our spirit that we are sons of God. Shout hallelujah. Hallelujah. This is this is this should be the greatest delight of a believer. This this should be the greatest delight of a believer. The same spirit is the spirit of faith. The same spirit is the spirit of power. Is the spirit of love. Is the spirit of wisdom. Is the spirit of revelation. Is the spirit of liberty. Is the spirit of adoption. If you have Holy Ghost in you, everything I have said now is can be possible in your life. Everything I have said. Say after me, "The spirit of faith." The spirit of power. The spirit of love. The spirit of wisdom. The spirit of revelation. The spirit of liberty. The spirit of adoption. Same spirit. Hallelujah. So the book of Acts is the historical account of the dealings of God with men through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Men and women who navigated the part of the spirit as anchored by the Holy Ghost. The Bible say and the Holy Ghost resisted them and he led them. They didn't walk by themselves. They didn't do anything by themselves. They were led of the spirit. Do you know why there are a lot of issues in our life? We believe there are parts the Holy Ghost belong to in our lives. He said he will teach you all things, but you believe it's only church things. When you wanted to start your business, you said, "No, this is not spiritual." This is not a spirit. This is this are this a secular matter. So, you ignore him. So, after you failed like three times, E mi mo ibolou ju re wa, ni bo lo ju re wa. The same thing with marital relationship. After you have tried several, you know this this age now, you have to you have to shine your eyes. Wait, do you think you see anything? Do you not be sincere with yourself?
