Prophet Cherub Obadare teaches that thanksgiving is a divine command and a key to health, explaining its role in the mystery of total recovery.
way. Glory to God. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. As many, I pray. As many as are trusting God for that kind of joy. I pray in the name of Jesus. I declare your womb open in the name of Jesus. But the reason of this joy, yours is next in Jesus name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. I don't know if it's only me, but I don't like Shepard traveling. Amen. But he has to, because He's not called only to spirit life, He's called to the world. So, he needs to go out, and um take the word of God to the world. Amen. But, let's remember in our prayers that he has as he has gone, that the Lord will bring him back safely. And, his anointing will never run dry. In the name of Jesus. Okay, so last week, um we started um a series, Thanksgiving, a mystery for total recovery. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So, last week, we were able to see that Thanksgiving is one of the mysteries of the kingdom. We also saw that it is not Thanksgiving is just not an activity. Thanksgiving is a weapon in the hand of a saint. How many of us after last week, um teaching by the Shepherd, did you go home when you wanted to pray and then you you couldn't even pray, you were just thanking God? Do you have a witness in the house? That is what the word of God does to us. It opens our mind, and then we know what to do. Hallelujah. So, quickly this morning, we are going to be looking further into that topic. About some other facts in Thanksgiving. You know, some people will say that, why should I thank God? Why? In this world of us of uncertainty, in this world of pain, why? Why should I thank God? My health is deteriorating. Why should I thank God? My family is breaking apart. Why should I thank God? Do I have a reason to thank God? Do I? My parents have been sick for so many years. All my salaries goes into their upkeep. Why should I thank God? I'm talking from a broken home. Why should I thank God? I'm a product of a broken home. Why should I thank God? The economy of the country is making things difficult. Why should I thank God? Even in these difficulties, why? Why? Give me a reason why I should thank God. And we see it's so many people like that and even in the church, in a workplace, you know, they just begin to ask you, why? Why should I thank God? Even when some people see the joy of the Lord radiating in you, they'll ask you, why are you happy? What's making you laugh? You, are you not in Nigeria? Can't you see everything going upside down? What is there to rejoice about? What has got done? So, quickly, we are going to be looking into why as a saints, why should I even thank God? We should thank God because Thanksgiving is a command. It's a command of God. It is not an option. It is a command. Quickly, let's look at the book of Psalm 150 verse 6. And Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 45 to 49. I would like to see Deuteronomy 28 first. Deuteronomy chapter 28 Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 45 to 49. Verse 45. Thank you. Hm. You know, when we study the book of Deuteronomy, most of us, when we read verse 1 to 15, we'll just we'll flip over to the next chapter. You don't read the other ones. Amen. Okay, so we are going to read it now. From verse 45. Moreover, all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed. Because thou harkenst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded thee. Next verse. And they shall be upon thee for a sign, and for a wonder, and upon thy seed forever. Next verse. Because thou serveth not thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, For the abundance of all things. My version says, because thou hast not served the Lord with thankfulness, You have not been thankful for everything God has given unto you. And that is why some of the judgments of God came upon the children of Israel. You know, most times, we always think that the judgments came upon them because because of immorality, because of their sins, being ungrateful was one of their sins. Being ungrateful was one of them. Not only immorality, being ungrateful. Let me look at this for my Being ungrateful was one of their sins. He said, you will become slaves to your enemies because of your failure to praise God for all that He has given you. So, being ungrateful was part of the punish of of was part of why God judged the Israelites. So, we'll see We might say that, okay, um this book Deuteronomy was not written to us, but it is for our learning. Just like we learn from David, just like we learn from Esther, just like we learn from Isaac and Abraham, we should learn also learn from this. It is not written to us, but we are learning from it. We will see how being thankful is very important to God. Okay, so if this was not written to us, let's go to where it was written to us. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 5:18. 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 18. At least that is written to us. Thank God in everything. No matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful. Give thanks, and this is the will of God for we who are in Christ Jesus, the revealer and the mediator of that will. So, this is written to us. So, this is how Thanksgiving is very important to God. It says in everything, we should give thanks. In everything, we should give thanks. And so when we are saying, "Lord, show me your will." That is the will of God for us who are in Christ Jesus, that we will be thankful to Him for all that He has done, for the faith to receive what we hope for. Amen. Amen. Thanksgiving is a key to health and longevity. That's one of the reasons again to thank God. Thanksgiving is a key to health and thanksgiving. Proverbs 17 verse 22. It says, "A grateful heart is like medicine. A thankful heart is like medicine. The Bible also says, "The joy of the Lord is my strength. The joy of the Lord is my strength. Meaning, when we give glory to God, our Thanksgiving glorifies God, but it benefits us. In our body. Do you understand that? Our thanksgiving glorifies God. But ultimately, it also benefits our body. You know, there is a very thin line between sadness and depression. Very thin line. Between sadness and depression. You know, one of my colleagues, you know, gave a testimony about how the sadness around him, there were some things that were happening around him, you know, that plunged him into sadness. Everything you know, he was just sad. And then before he knows it, he wanted to kill himself. Okay, what actually happened was that a lot of people were just dying around him. You would hear that this one died, we would again hear that another person died. And I was now thinking, what's what is going on? And then he was sad because those people died. And then by his sadness, instead of giving glory to God, true, his sadness, the devil was able to get a foot hold, foot old in his life. And then he, with his own hand, wanted to end his own life. Because he plunged into depression. So, when we are thankful to God, when we, when when we wake up in the morning, is a reason to thank God. How many of us, you know, when you go to bed and then do you know when you finally go to sleep? The only thing you know is when you go to bed, right? Am I the only one? Is there anybody here when you know exactly when you fell fell asleep? Is there anybody here? So, that you are able to sleep like that and then wake up in the morning, opening your eyes to the world, is enough reason to give glory to God. Amen. Amen. Is enough reason to give glory to our Father. When we don't allow the burden all around us to plunge us into into into having heart heart diseases. A lot of people, the reason they have heart disease is not because of probably um um it's not an hereditary for some people, but because they've allowed the problem they have to weigh them too much down. That's why, you know, they will get to the hospital where the doctor will say your BP has gone has skyrocketed. And then, bringing a little joy into their life and you see the turn around. That's why the the the Proverbs told us, said a merry heart is like medicine to the body. Hallelujah. Amen. Thanksgiving calls on God's presence. Thanksgiving calls on God's presence. The Bible says, said, "God inhabit the praises of His people." Inhabit means He lives in it. And you know, in my study, I saw that I was reading Revelation chapter 4, and I saw that the elders what they do day in, day out, was giving glory to the Father. I don't know if many of us have read that that chapter of the Bible. What they do, the elders, they give glory to God, the beings, the living beings give glory to God, day in, day out. So, if you as a saint, if you begin to give glory to God right now, what you are doing is that you are you will move into the realm of heaven. What you are doing at that time is what is happening in heaven. That is why the books of Acts chapter 16 verse 25, the Paul and Silas brought down the heavenlies into the prison. And the prison could not contain the prison could not could not hold the events in the prison. That is why the the the Bible says the the foundation of the prison shook. Because Paul and Silas brought down the heavenlies down into the prison by praising God. Even even in their in their in their situation in a very dark cell. You can imagine someone in chains, you know, praising God. And then the chain fell and the foundation of the earth shook. Does anybody in the house this morning that is ready to praise God? That is ready to give to to render Thanksgiving to God. You know, some of us might saying, what is Thanksgiving? What is praise? Thanksgiving leads to praise. Am I right? Because when you are trying to praise God, when you are trying to thank God, you are praising Him. Praising Him is lifting up His name for all that He has done, for who He is. So, being thankful leads to praise. Hallelujah. Amen. Thanksgiving is the key to multiplication in the kingdom. Jeremiah 30:19. Thanksgiving is the key to multiplication in the kingdom. Jeremiah chapter 30 verse 19. Quickly, please. 30:19. Out of them will come songs of Thanksgiving and the voices of those who make merry. And I will multiply them, and they will not be few. I will also glorify them, and they will not be small. If you want to see more of something in your life, just thank God. If you want to see more of something in your life, just thank God. When you thank God for something, it will never die. When you thank God for your children, they will never die. When you thank God for anything that belongs to you, it will never die. Because you are, you are, you are following the the rule of multiplication. When you want more of something in your life, give glory to to God, and see how that thing begins to multiply. If you thank God for your health, See how you enjoy sound health daily. Amen. Hallelujah. Do you have a thankful person in the house this morning? Shout, Hallelujah! Amen. Amen. So, quickly, we are going to be looking at how to live a victorious life as a Christian. True Thanksgiving. Living a victorious life as a Christian through Thanksgiving. Hallelujah. Amen. You know, you ask, "How are how will I be thankful? How? How will I be thankful to God?" But you can thank God for all that material blessings that you have. Don't focus. Don't focus on what other people have because if you focus on what other people have that you don't have, you will never be thankful, and you can't be victorious like that. Amen. Focus on your material blessings. Focus on what God has done for you. Focus on the things that you have done. Don't focus on what other people have. Amen. That way, you can be thankful to God. Because if you if your focus is on what your neighbor has that you don't have, like that, you can't be thankful, and you can't be victorious. Amen. That's when you'll be filled with envy and jealous. Amen. 1 Chronicles chapter 29 verse 12 verse 214. Can we see that quickly? 1 Chronicles 29:12 to 14. Don't compare yourself to others. Don't. Don't compare yourself to others. Your mates are getting married, you are not married yet. Trust in God. Your neighbors have babies, you don't have yet, trust in God. You want a car, you have not been able to get a car, trust in God. Don't compare yourself to others. Give glory to God for both His riches and His honor. said, "Both riches and honor come from you, O Lord. You reign over all. In your hands are power and might. In your hands it is to make great. It is in the hand of God to make great. It is in His hands. So, give glory to Him for what He has given you and trust Him for more. Don't compare yourself to your neighbor. Don't compare yourself to your friends. Trust in God and be thankful for where you are and for where He's taking you to. Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11 says, "For I know the plans that I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you," I have for you. The plans to prosper you. So, if you are comparing yourself to your neighbor, is that you that you want to be where your neighbor is? What if God has something bigger for you than where your neighbor is? And then you put a peg on yourself by comparing yourself to your neighbor. So, thank God because He has a plan for you. His mercies are new every morning, every morning. So, thank God for what you have, for who you are, who He has made you to be, and for who He will make you become. Amen. Number two, thank God for the people in your life. 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 2. Thank God for the people in your life. Can we quickly see that? 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 2. We are ever giving thanks to God for all of you continually mentioning you when engaged in our prayers. That's Apostle Paul. He's always thanking God for the people in his life. He's always thanking God, always, always thanking God for the people in his life. He said, "He mentions them in His prayer." So, thank God for your spouse. We are talking about how to live a victorious life as a Christian, through Thanksgiving. True Thanksgiving. Thank God for your spouse. Don't compare your spouse to others. Don't compare your wife to your friend's wife. Thank God for her. Thank God for whoever God has made her to be. So, many families has been destroyed through that. True compare a husband comparing his wife to another. True a wife comparing her husband to another. Are we going to say God is not faithful? He is. He is forever faithful. That's why we need to thank God for them. And then if there's something in their life that needs to be adjusted, what do we do? If there's something in the life of our spouse that needs to be adjusted, we mention them in prayer. Hallelujah. Amen. We mention them in our prayer. Giving glory to God. Thank God for your children. Thank God for your children. And don't forget to thank God for the people that God brings into your life. People that have made impacts in your life. Don't forget to thank God for them. This is living a victorious life as a Christian. As a Christian. Because to recover all, you know, when we say recovering all, these are some of the things that have been lost. Joy has been lost in some homes. Joy has been lost in some homes because they are not thankful. Homes some homes are breaking down because of this. People are losing helpers because of this because they are not thankful. They are not thankful. And so, for everyone God brings into your life, you must be thankful for them to God. Hallelujah. Amen. Thank God in the midst of trials. Hallelujah. Thank God in the midst of trials. You know, this can be difficult. Thanking God in the midst of trial. Let's look at Psalm 46 verse 1. Psalm 46 verse 1. God is our refuge and strength, mighty and impenetrable to temptation. A very present and well-proved help in trouble. Is the Bible telling us that there will be no trouble? No. There's nowhere in the Bible we were told that there will be no trials. There's nowhere in the Bible we were told that there will be no trouble. But what does the Bible tell us? He said, "Our Father…
