Principles Of Faith And Obedience Part 1 — Prophet Cherub Obadare
I like you to talk to God this morning. Say Father, open my understanding. Bring your word to me with great power and understanding. Turn my life around. Give me testimony. Have your way in my life. In Jesus name we pray. Let me welcome somebody to church beside you this morning. Welcome somebody in God's presence. Say the person I'm glad Hallelujah. Amen. By the grace of God we are going to be having a feast today. a love feast. Um we are going to be having sharing of gifts. and I'm sure by now you all have your gifts with you. We have announced it several times. I know some of us are probably have forgotten. So maybe you pull your watch or something I don't know what you no, you don't we don't need you. Christ has taken you already. Or you some of you who have specs you release your specs or something. But you have to give out something. And I want to tell us this. Um our last vigil I preached a message. How many of you were around. Um I preached on praying, giving and living. And I said is a structured D of the spirit. to have a praying life. I want to tell you emphatically you can't succeed without being a prayer person. I don't care how gifted you are. If you don't have a consistent life of prayer, you cannot succeed. Jesus will not have without prayer. He lived his life prayer. And so I talked about prayer. And I said another thing that is key. is to live a life of giving. And I told I told some of us that night that you have at least five things in your house you can still give out. Many of you your house has become a museum. You have things of 10, 20 years shoes of so since the day you were born they are still kept. And so you are not giving things out. If we go to your shoe rack, there are And that your shoe is somebody's prayer point. Somebody is praying oh God. And you have kept it in your shoe rack. You have clothes you have not worn for five years. untouch There are some of us who have clothes you have not you have never wear them before. and you have kept them. And somebody is praying. And that's your cloth is is is its own prayer. And so I want us to imbibe the habit of giving. You are not living a complete Christian life until you are a giver. The life of a Christian is the life that gives. In fact, you are not you are not a good Christian. I mean let me say you don't understand Christianity yet. If you are not an addict giver. because if not for giving, you will not be where you are. But God gave He gave his son. And so, what will you give that can equate the son? And so, we are going to be sharing today. So, teach us that it should be an everyday affair. It's not until February 14. Or Christmas. Let your life. The Bible says is Do you know cash lived because she gave? people brought what she gave and said to Peter. Peter right? They say this woman must not die. Because she did this for me. I am where I am because of this. She must not die. A giving cried in the heavenly. God heard the voice of men on behalf of Do you know this? And so please, I want to I want us to imbibe the habit of give. Look at somebody around in the church. I said something. No matter how rich a church is There are poor people in that church. Some poor are the churches in the world. No matter how rich the pastor of the There are people who don't have in that church. And so there's always somebody you can extend their hands of fellowship onto. The Bible was speaking. Bible said how many of you will a brother that is hungry come to you. And you will hold his hand. He doesn't work. You give him food. Then you pray. Then you have done a complete job. Today in church we have become too sensitive. people wear clothes to oppress the person sitting by you. You bring a car to church to oppress others who don't have. Tap your neighbor say be a giver. Say it louder say be a giver. And so please, the Bible says in Galatians chapter 6 it said first to the people of the household of faith. The message version say to brethren in the house in the community of faith do good to them, especially to those. Give out. Extend the hands of fellowship. And so today we are going to be giving gifts. I'm praying that to come to a day in our church. There will be exchange of cars. Praise God. Hallelujah. There is someone that cannot give a car tire. Don't worry. Giving us nothing to do with how much you have. It is how much you give that determines how much you have, not how much you have. That is by the way. we are building on a series of teaching. We title it keeping focus on God. Keep us look around. Anybody doesn't just tap them. If anybody is sleeping, tap the person. Why is it that when we are talking about giving, talking about focus, that is why somebody is lost losing his own focus. If anybody is sitting, just tap sleeping. Tap the person. There is time to sleep, not now. Praise God. Hallelujah. Now listen to me. We understand that there have been a lot of distractions. A lot of distractions even when we have made up our mind to be committed to God. And you get distractions here and there. And so before you know it all the plans you have for the year to be committed to God, you get distracted. What is our watch word for the year 2020? Who can remind me? Consecration. 2020. I pray you will not be distracted from that. Amen. If you are saying amen let me hear your amen loud. Amen. The Lord spoke to us that is going to do something 2020 and beyond. And it requires your consecration. Commit your body, your soul and your spirit. And God will amaze you. And so today, we are starting something different. And I'd like you to follow. All right down. The principle of obedience and faith. Say after me say obedience and faith. Say it louder, say obedience and faith. I have taught this in the first service. And so I've given some introductions. But for the sake of us being on the same page, I will repeat a few things. Obedience and faith. Obedience and faith. For every faith you release onto any issue or circumstance in your life, it is an obedience to a portion of God's word. There is no release of faith that will not be connected or tied to an obedience of the word of God. Maybe you have faith for promotion. Somehow, back and come. It is an obedience to the world. The Bible speaking in the book of James. Show me your faith without works. Only if my life show me that you are a man of faith without a pragmatic obedience that follows. He said I will show you my faith. It works. I understand faith like this. Faith and obedience work parallel. When you said I believe, your belief is an obedience to God's word. I believe God can heal. How many of you believe the Lord can heal? That belief is an obedience to a portion of God's word. And so, when a man says he believes, there must be an action obedience that follows what he believes. I believe God can do it. There is an obedience that must follow what you believe. I pray for us that God will open our understanding. Many of our answers in prayer, there are instructions we have refused to obey. An obedience has to do with the understanding of the written word. How do you obey what you don't know? Many of us don't know. That's why we are in disobedience. When you are not, he said, how will they be saved? Romans chapter 10. If no preacher that tells them, how will they have faith for salvation? When they have not been taught, there must be something given to you to obey. Obey the Lord your God with all of your heart, your spirit, your mind. With everything that you've got. That you may obey the Lord. He said this is the two commandments. You can't love without obedience. Love the Lord your God. The way you He said if any of you say you love me, only here the can say you love me in the synoptics. If you say you love me, obey my commandments. If you want to show that you love me, the way to show your love for God is in obedience. Now there is there's a way many of us class obedience. There's something we call selective obedience. You choose what you obey in the word. You interpret the scripture and coin the scripture and make the scripture look like what we want to do. And there are categories of people. The only thing they believe they should obey is when someone is in trance and the person is prophesying And the person is saying. When I was growing up many people that we were together worshipping, they choose to believe. The prophecy that says go to Lagos and fetch water and bring it for a prayer. That to obey the written word of God. For every area of your life, marriage, finance, ministry, business, there is written word of God that guides whatever you do. In everything, in every field, in every thing we involve ourself in life There's a written word. There's a written word to succeed in ministry. And let somebody tell you vision or not. You need to tell people. Don't be surprised. When someone say You see your future is bright. Listen to the Bible. You should not You don't be surprised. The Lord says you are glorious child. It's in the Bible. It's in the written word. He won't know I know I know the scripture. The Lord said you are a family God. The God is going to announce you in your family. You have it in the written word. But many of us, we choose not to obey the written word of God. And we prefer to hear something new. We prefer to hear someone prophesy to us. And so today we are going to be giving gifts. I'm praying that to come to a day in our church. There will be exchange of cars. Praise God. Hallelujah. There is someone that cannot give a car tire.
