Manifesting Kingdom Realities 2 (appropriating kingdom realities) - Pastor Olaopa Olajide Michael — Pastor Olaopa Olajide Michael
Now, today we'll be looking at something very briefly. I tag it appropriating appropriating kingdom realities, appropriating kingdom realities, appropriating kingdom realities. Appropriating kingdom realities. The Bible text taken from the book of Colossians chapter 3 verse 1 to 3 4:18. Appropriating Kingdom realities. Appropriating Kingdom realities. Colossians 3:1 to 3. 2 Corinthians 4:18. Amen. Amen. Amen. Now, I will start by saying uh do have time. So, I will watch tonight so that we can cover up with what we have. Now, what does it mean to appropriate appropriate something? What does it mean to appropriate? Um the word appropriate can be used in different sense. But in this sense, it is using the sense of making something your own. Amen. Amen. 1:19 We are using this word in the sense of making something your own, appropriating kingdom realities. Now, appropriating means to make something your own. Uh So, now, in the context of what we are discussing today, which is the kingdom, it is that as we want to appropriate our kingdom realities. Amen. Amen. Amen. Please follow. Praise God. Amen. Now, Praise God. Now, it says, to appropriate Kingdom reality. Now, we've we've talked about the several kingdom realities that we have in this our kingdom. So, I don't want to take much time on that. Now, what we are trying to look at today is just that the body the body is to make us see that there's a possibility for something to be available and yet you are not appropriating it. Amen. Amen. It's possible for you to have money in your back account and might choose to keep it there, yes or no? My might choose to deposit it as a fixed deposit. Now, if you do a fixed deposit for example, maybe you cannot go back and withdraw it anytime you like. You can't go back and withdraw fixed deposit anytime. You cannot just go and withdraw it anytime you like. There's there's a period of agreement that needs to be fulfilled before you can go back and withdraw the money. So during that period when you are not able to access the money that you have, Do you have money? Do you have money? Somebody said no. Do you have money? Do you have money? Okay. But can you use the money? Now, appropriately, like I said, is to make something your own or in this sense, to apply a particular thing, amen. So now, it's possible for us to have access to kingdom realities when we do not understand how to appropriate them. Praise God. Praise God. It's possible for you to have in fact, we have access to the Father, we have access to the kingdom. We have access to all that the kingdom of God can give. But there's a possibility that even though we have access, appropriation is not in place. Amen. Amen. Have you not seen believers, one of the things that we said is available in this kingdom is righteousness. Yes or no? Now, you might have wondered and look at some believers and you wonder in their life. Their life does not show anything that looks like righteousness at all. And yet, well, you cannot say they are not saved. Because they came to be saved. Amen. Now, things can be available in the kingdom and yet you might not be appropriating them. You know, how many of us remember that man at the pool of Bethesda. The Bible says that he was close to the pool. But he was not He doesn't have what it takes to actually enter the pool. Amen. Amen. And the fact that you are close to something sometimes does not mean that that thing will actually benefit you. Praise God. Praise God. The fact that you are close to some things does not mean that that thing will actually benefit you. All the time. So you might have access to something and yet you might not be using it or you might not be enjoying that thing. Amen. So, what we want to look at today is how to appropriate the realities of the kingdom into our own lives. Hallelujah. So, because of our time, uh, I'll just, I'll just be briefing the introduction, so I'll move straight to the appropriation. Amen. Amen. So, how do you appropriate kingdom realities? All right, let's go to number one. Because of time. Now, like I said, the context of our discussion is centered around the kingdom of God. So the first thing that anybody needs to do to appropriate kingdom realities is that they need to first have access to those realities. Amen. And how you have access to them is by being born again. Praise God. Praise God. We have we have said that these realities are kingdom realities. They are realities that are of God's kingdom. So it means that a man cannot appropriate them until you have had access to them. And how to have access to them is by being born again. Amen. If you are not born again, forget about kingdom realities. Praise God. It's just like you cannot go to America now and vote. Yes or no? If you if you have the chance to travel abroad like right now, maybe people who have cars know and say, I want to leave them to go to United Kingdom, like right now, and they have an election, you cannot vote. You know why? You don't have the legal right to perform that action. That action of voting is only meant for people who are citizens of that particular country. So, even though you are living in that geography, you are still excluded from voting. Amen. Amen. So, you see, before a person can begin to say he wants to appropriate uh kingdom realities into his own life, he wants to apply them to his life, the first thing he must have is access to those realities. And you cannot have access to them until you have been born again. Amen. So, uh Nicodemus came to see Jesus in the night in the book of John chapter 3, can we read this? John chapter 3 verse 1 to let's let's just start reading from verse 1. Okay. Yeah, there was a man of the Pharisees Nicodemus All right. Just by night and said unto him Rabbi We know that thou are the teacher come from God. Now, okay. Continue, continue. That was a good Yes. Jesus answered and said unto him Very, very, I say unto you except a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Now hold on, praise God. How many of us have ever asked ourselves this question? Let's take for example, I come to meet brother and I said well, these things that you are doing maybe is is Jesus is doing signs and wonders, is doing the old raising the dead and these things you are doing, no man can do it except God is with that person and his response is except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom. What's the correlation between the two statements? This this person is saying that these things you are doing, nobody can do it except God is with the person. And you are saying that except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom. You can see that, you know, there is a connection. Because to be able to do those things, you must be a citizen of the kingdom. You must be born into that kingdom. Amen. So until you are born into that kingdom, you cannot see or even participate in the realities of that kingdom. You cannot see or participate in the realities of that kingdom. So, being born again is the is the entry point, it's the gatepass into the kingdom. Amen. Praise God. Hallelujah. It cannot be a round square. So if something does not exist, you cannot be hearing for such a thing. There must be a knowledge of what is available before you can say you are pursuing those things. Amen. Amen. what do you many religious struggle is because they do not know the things that have been freely given to them. They do not know. They are not aware of who they are, of the kind of possibilities that is in the kingdom they belong to. So, to manifest it, to work in it becomes impossible because even from the beginning they do not know. Amen. Apostle was in the book of Ephesians chapter 1 that the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened that they may know the hope of the calling. Because if they don't know it, they will not strive towards it. They don't know it, they will not strive towards it. So you see, one of the things you must pursue is you must pursue knowledge. Somebody say knowledge. You must pursue knowledge. The knowledge of the kingdom you must pursue it. This must be your heart desire. And how we gain the knowledge of our kingdom, how we gain the knowledge of our kingdom we belong to is through the word of God, through the written word of God. Amen. Amen. Amen. That's why Apostle was saying that as…
