to to this retreat program. Um, Council of our daddies in the house. Council, God bless you. God bless you. Thank you for Thank you for coming, thank you for being with us even till this moment. And um, Amen. Amen. Amen. All right, um, It's a privilege to share the word when we have elders seated. Amen. Amen. And uh, uh, hymn for this retreat is? Ká máa yé kósì? Hállelúyà. Ká máa yé kósì wán sí gó? Hállelúyà. Ká máa yé kósì wán sí gó? Hállelúyà. Hold the line. And um, there are three Bible texts that we have for this theme. Um Numbers chapter 27 from verse 15 to 23, Numbers 27 from verse 15 to 23. I would love somebody to open to that scripture. Also, 2 Timothy 2 verse 2, 2 Timothy 2 verse 2, and 1 Timothy chapter 4 from verse 12 to 16. We've been running tonight. Uh, we've been running tonight. We've been running tonight because of our time and because of our daddies have to take their leave as soon as possible. Amen. Amen. Now, um, I intentionally listed those scriptures the way I listed them so that we can flow together. Now if you look at the book of Numbers 27 from verse 15 to 23, um can we have someone read for us? As fast as possible. Alright. Let the Lord. Okay, sir. Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd. And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him; And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient. And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word shall they come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation. And Moses did as the Lord commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation: And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses. Amen. May the Lord bless the reading of his word, in Jesus name. Now, I'll start with this scripture tonight and we'll move into the other scriptures. Now, um we're all familiar with the story of Moses, Joshua, the Exodus from Genesis from Egypt to uh Canaan which the Lord promised them. Now, in the course of that journey, we all know the story, it came to a point that God had to tell Moses that Moses will not enter the land he has promised them due to uh one thing or the other. Amen. However, um after that event, before Moses was finally buried by the Lord, we saw that Moses made a request to God. Amen. Bible says that he he spoke to God and said, "the Lord says over his people another man." Praise God. Haleluya. He made a request to God and said, "let the Lord set over his people another man." That is, the people of God, the children of God, the people of God must not be without a shepherd. Amen. Amen. Amen. The people of God must not lack a shepherd, a leader, at any point. And Moses understood this because anywhere there is no shepherd to guide the sheep, the sheep will scatter. The scripture says that uh when Jesus was talking about his uh his passion that he will pass through. He told his disciples, he said, "As it has been written, 'strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter." Amen. So, it therefore means that as we see in scripture, all through scripture, you will realize that the intention of God for his people is that they are not without people who will be shepherds over them. Praise God. Haleluya. So, if you look at the book of Judges, for example, in the book of Judges, you see a repeated pattern of Israel going astray and coming back to the Lord. Every time there is no judge in Israel, the people will begin to go astray. And when God realizes that these people are about to go astray again, he will raise for them a judge. And we see that when that judge dies, when that judge dies, and there's no other judge to take over from that judge, it's only a matter of time before the people will go back again and turn their back against the Lord. Amen. Amen. Amen. And you see all through scriptures, even in the New Testament, after Jesus has established his church, Bible says that in the book of Ephesians 4 verse 11, he said, "He gave gifts unto men; he made some apostles, some prophets, some teachers, some, some pastors for the equipping of the saints." This means that even when Jesus sets his church on earth, he did not leave the church without leadership. Amen. Amen. He did not leave the church devoid of people who will be overseers, the flock of the Lord. Praise God. Haleluya. So, when you read this, you start seeing um words like elders, words like deacons, words like bishops, because those are the people that were set in the church um to serve as overseers over the church. Amen. Amen. So, you see, when we talk about all the line, we are not talking about something that is not scriptural. We have seen it from scripture that the intention of God is that his people will not be without shepherding. Praise God. Haleluya. Can we read the book of Jeremiah 3:15? Jeremiah, there's there's something in that scripture that we must read. Jeremiah 3:15. I will give you pastors. I will give you pastors according to my heart. according to my heart. Now, God is promising here that he will give them pastors, the word pastors, the word shepherd, after his own heart. And their job description is that they will teach you knowledge and understanding. Amen. Amen. Amen. So, you see, when God starts something with one man, it doesn't It's not the intention of God to end this with that man. Praise God. Hallelujah. Anything God begins with your life, because God has eternity. You don't have eternity. God does not not want to end what is doing with you, with you. Even though God knows that you don't have all eternity to fulfill the assignments or to complete all that he wants to do with your life, God created a system of handing over that when God has used you for something, he expects that that thing will continue with somebody else. Amen. Amen. Now, let's take for example, in the year of Abraham, God came to Abraham, God said, "I will make you the father of all nations." Is that correct? I will bless you. Out of you, all nations of the earth will be blessed. God promises in the blessing. But you see, Abraham did not live long enough to see that blessing manifest in his life, yes or no? Yes. Because, by the time Abraham would die, Abraham had just one son that he would call a son, or let's say two. Am I correct? Yes. And you can't you can't have two sons and say you are the father of all nations. in physical. Even though we know it is true that there's a father of nations. That thing that God wanted to do with Abraham, God continued with Isaac. Praise God. Hallelujah. And from Isaac, God continued with Jacob. So, when you want to call God, you say, "God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." The In the family of Abraham, there's a covenant blessing that is there. And so, even the New Testament, in the book of Galatians that we we we we we are heirs of the promise of Abraham. We You were not there over 4,000 years ago when God promised Abraham the promise, but somehow, that promise is still that covenant is still relevant today even though the ones that received the covenant directly has gone to be with the Lord. Amen. Amen. So, we see when you look through scriptures over and over again, anytime God begins something with one man, his intention is that it continues for generations. All I'm telling you is that God deals with men transgenerationally. Amen. Amen. You know, there has been this uh pattern that you may need to see, like, oh, that needs a pastor, it almost looks like you always end up being the pastor most of the time. It's because the intention of God is that what is started with your father should also continue in that lineage. You always said that there would be one out of the children, there should be one that will look like he wants to follow that pastoral theme that the daddy was doing. Because the plan of the intention of God is that what he begins with one man should continue with his generations. Amen. Amen. So, there is a burden on two people now, the one that's God started something with must first of all fulfill the cause of his own assignment. Then, he must raise another generation who will continue. And the other generation that has been raised also has an obligation to continue in the things they have received. Amen. Amen. If there will be continuity, the one that began the work must do his own part. The one that wants to receive the work must also be prepared to do to receive the work and his own part. Praise God. Hallelujah. How many of you ever read this scripture in the book of Hebrew chapter? Is it chapter 11?
