Discipleship: God's Pattern Series — Prophet Cherub Obadare
Prophet Cherub Obadare explains the biblical necessity of prioritizing God, warning against casual worship and the danger of ignoring His established standards.
We started a series about a months or more than a months now, on putting God first in our life, prioritizing God. Putting God as number one. And you know, God has shown us a few things and how important it is that we make a decision. You know, it's about us deciding, not about God. Many of us want God to decide for us, but the Bible has is the mind of God. The Bible is the decision of God. The Bible is what God is saying. And so don't wait until God tell you. She, most important, no. God has spoken through His word. Hallelujah. And um we were able to see that it is important that um God becomes number one in our life such that anytime you are looking up, you are not seeing anybody but God. Because whatever it is that you have put first in your life, anytime you are in problem, when you look up, that is the first thing you will see. And David praying, he said, I will lift up my eyes up to the hills, where shall my help come from? My help shall come from the Lord God Almighty. And so, when we you you make God, you decide in your heart, I'm going to make God number one in my life. It means every decision you will make, God will be consulted first. Not even your accounts. Because many of us, um somehow, our what we have has become number one in our in our life, money, especially. When you have money, many the problem many people have, people who have money is because money has a way of taking your heart. And that was why Jesus was speaking and said, uh it might be easy for a camel to pass through the eyes of the needle, than it is easier for a rich man to make the kingdom of heaven. And why is Jesus saying that? It's not that rich men will not make heaven. He's saying that if money takes the place of God in your life, which is the kingdom, and that was why he further started warning them in Matthew 6:33. Seek first the kingdom, and every other thing will fall in place. Praise God. And so we we went from prioritizing God to, you know, following God's pattern, that when you put God first, you allow him lead. Many of us have put God first, yet, you do you don't want to you don't want to follow the leading. And so, God is a God of of pattern. He's a God of standard. He's a God of principle. Unfortunately, many of us have been taught a pervert version of God. The God that many of us know is not the God of the Bible, unfortunately. Many, many years ago, I was in school, and one man came and was preaching and passionately he was preaching as if he was about shedding tears. He said unfortunately, He said it's like genuine gospel is not found with this generation. If it was said like what I'm talking about now is over 16 years ago. That it is so painful that what he is hearing now called the gospel, is not what they received. And gradually the perversion is increasing day by day. That the way people talk and teach God, it has been so, God has been so watered down by preachers, that the way we approach and relate to God is so casual because of the version of God that was taught to us. Our relationship with God is such a casual, a careless, you know, you don't no reference kind of relationship. God understand. Where the you see some of this language is started coming to to to let us know what the heart of people is towards God. Jemima Jesu ni. You know people just say some careless languages. You know um gradually, some somehow we are beginning to accept some of these things as part of God and part of who God is. It is good at times you read the judgment side of God so that you'll be you'll be you'll be cautious. And this teaching of Pauline revelation has made us lose focus that God is a God of judgment. It is in Hebrew, New Testament, that the Bible says it is a terrible thing to fall in the hand of God. And so, we must be careful as much as God is loving, His standard has not changed. The love of God did not change the standard of God. It only it only upholds the standard of God. And so, let's not approach God. The Bible says and Apostle Paul went to a place where he saw on the in their tabernacle of worship, they wrote to the unknown God, "That we serve a God we don't know." And so, when you serve God that you don't know, you don't know His principles, you don't know His pattern, His model of doing things, you have possibility to You know, from reference, people don't even have reference for God. So, today we are going to be looking at, I don't know how much time we have, but a lot of things, I believe the Lord want us to see today. Very, very important. And so, last week we were looking at uh you know, that God has a pattern, and it is important that you ask for God's pattern, even in study of God's word. You must choose to follow it. It's a decision. You must be willing and obedient. He was speaking in Isaiah chapter 1 and from verse 19. "If ye be willing and obedient, ye will eat the fruit of the land." If you will be willing, number one, willingness to yield to God's way and pattern. So, I want to 7 Moses knew the way. He knew the pattern of God. He said, but the children of Israel knew the way. The children of Israel knew the act. And so, that's why if a king reign and know they too will know God. If he doesn't know God, they will not know God. Why? They know the way. What is happening, please? Hallelujah. And so, anytime a king who knows God dies, when there's no leader, most listen to me, Israel will go astray. There's these two common God, the the the the God of um Asheroth and um Baal was a common God they were familiar with. Why? They were used to it in Egypt. And so, God brought them out of Egypt to show them His pattern. For 40 days, God was teaching Moses what He looks like, and what He wants Israel, the way He wants Israel to see Him. The reason they looked they looked for another God before Moses come back was because they felt the God Moses went for was just one of the God. So, let's just get one before he comes back. If they knew what was coming was terrible, they would not have done it. They thought it's one of those kind of God so, we can get one timely or tentatively before he will come back because he will give us something like this. So, when Moses went, they just let's just get because the kind of God that was to be shown to them, they didn't know. Until terrible things began to have and all those years have never seen a stubborn nation like Israel. I believe they were stubborn. Is the reason God chose them? To demonstrate His love. And God saw that this nation would be like like I've never seen a stubborn nation like that. And so, God began to show them for yet, because they didn't know the pattern, they are they have a zigzag. Go and read the entire book of from Genesis to, you know, Exodus, to Leviticus, me numbers, you enter somewhere, you enter kings, you see zigzag relationship. Zigzag. Today, Israel worship God. Today, Israel will you be wondered if they forget what happened? They are a kind of believers that would relate with events, miracles. If it happens today, it happens with God. Tomorrow, you have forgotten. You have continued with your normal way of life. They relate with happenings, not with a person. They relate with miracle, not the miracle worker. And so, God is constant. He said in Malachi, he said, "I am God, I change not." But his works his works and dimensions of His art is what some people relate with, not Him. Praise God. And so, we're able to see that Moses was meticulous and detailed about, you know, following God's way. Um, you know, for Israel. Let's look at Leviticus chapter 8. We discussed a few things last week. We mentioned Ephesians chapter 5, maybe before we go to Leviticus 8, somebody help me read Ephesians chapter 1 and from verse 8, if you find it, please let me read. I mean, Ephesians 1 and from Ephesians 5 and from verse 1. But they didn't understand him. And so, they confuse him for Satan. I was studying and I discovered that until in chronicles was the first place Satan was mentioned. Can you imagine that Satan started walking from Genesis? But they didn't know, he was so masked that it went his acting they said, "God has done this." Until Chronicles when the Bible said, and Satan provoked the David to count the Israelites, Satan, in fact, the way Samuel put it, he said, "And he, he said and God punished the heart of David, and he provoked David." I was like, "How be God?" That's how Samuel put it. So, Chronicle now explained that it was not God, it was Satan. He said, "God punished him and it was even that it was God that broke that steered him to count Israel." And that same God So, when you look at that, you'll be confused. How can God ask you to do something and still that sin, God punish you? So, until the writer of Chronicles came and say, "It was not God, it was Satan." He said, "God punish him." And it was even that it was God that broke that steered him to count Israel. And that same God. So, when you look at that, you'll be confused.
