Active Priesthood - Bro Olaopa Olajide — Bro Olaopa Olajide Michael
Bro Olaopa Olajide teaches that active priesthood requires knowing the truth and equipping with God's armor before engaging in spiritual warfare.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I don't know your expectation why you were coming here tonight, but I think it is wrong for any man to come before God without expecting something from him. I think it is actually wrong for any man to come before God without expecting to receive from him, coming for coming sake. Amen. Amen. Whatever your expectation is tonight, I'll just like you to know this. I have not come here tonight to give you what you want. I have come here tonight to give you what God wants us to say. Hallelujah. Now listen to me. The topic tonight says, Active Priesthood. It says, Active Priesthood. And I know many of us have been used to this Christianity where you gather on Sundays, on Fridays, on vigils like this to pray, to pray, and to pray. And the prayer point that you keep praying about is that God should put an end to the challenge in your life, God should come and change the situation of your life. God should provide you a car, a beautiful wife, to give you a good grade, a good GP. But I've come here tonight to show us the truth. Let me say this to us, a time was A time must come when all of us must labor for what can last. Amen. I said what, all of us must labor to acquire what can last, what can sustain us in our journey in life. As long as we keep feeding ourselves with quick, quick, quick fix, let me say meals, we will never grow to stature of a man that can actually meet up with the expectation of this life. Amen. Amen. Amen. Let me say this to you, I know you have challenges, I know you have troubles, but let me tell you this, 70% of your challenges and troubles will have ended if only you knew some things. The reason why we keep praying and keep praying every time is because we actually don't know the things that God has provided for us to experience freedom and salvation. The reason why we keep sweating every time, and you have been praying for a long time over these issues. Every time there is a prayer point, that there's a battle fighting your life, you keep praying, sweating every day. And here there's no changes. It's because we're actually ignorant. Scriptures make us understand something in the book of Proverbs, that when a man wants to cut down a tree, if you are a wise man, if you are a wise person, what you will do is that you will spend much time sharpening the ax, the instruments you want to use to cut that tree. But if you are a foolish person, you will go ahead and start cutting the tree without sharpening the instruments you are going to use. And because you did not sharpen that instrument, you are going to waste much time, laboring, and your labors will be fruitless. Every wise man will sharpen his instruments. Amen. Before we go into talking about warfare, I would like us to know this. Praying every day, praying every Sundays, every Fridays, every Wednesdays, praying warfare prayer, always, will not profit you until you know the truth. Until you know the truth. Now, let me show you something in the Bible. The book of Ephesians that says that if you put on the whole armor of God, can I tell this to us, that prayer is not one of the whole armor of God? Amen. The Bible did not include prayer as part of the armor of God. The Bible actually said that after you have put on the whole armor of God, then you can pray with all prayers and supplications. Ephesians 6. Maybe I'm lying. Ephesians 6. Let's start from 13. Therefore. Now, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand the evil days, and having done all to stand, stand therefore, having your loins Eh? Eh? About with the truth. Now, that's number one armor. Having your loins girded about with the truth. Eh? Having on the breastplate of righteousness. Eh? Now, and your feet shod in the preparation of the gospel. Eh? Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye will quench all the fiery darts of the enemy. Eh? Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. Now, Amen. Amen. Can you see that prayer was not listed among those things? It is after you have put on those things that you can now pray accurately. Thank you, Mom. It is after you have girded yourself with the breastplate of righteousness, put on the helmet of salvation, equip yourself with the sword of the spirit, which the Bible calls the word of God, that is when you can now go and do warfare. I'm only saying this because many of us have so much fall in love with warfare prayers. We waste time praying warfare prayers when you don't know the truth. Now, in the body of Christ, when you talk about deliverance, people come and the mindset we have is somebody coming up and starting shouting, in the name of Jesus, Oya go out. Demons, catch them out. Let me tell you this, the Bible says that you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 70% of the deliverance that we acquire in your life, you come by knowing the truth. It will come by knowing the truth. Amen. Amen. So, I have not come here tonight to give you what you want, like I've said. I've come here to give you what God wants me to say to you. And it will be your best interest for you to open your ears and listen, because you have practiced this Christianity this this weak version of Christianity for a long time, it's not paying you. It's not actually profiting you. It is not actually profiting you. Let us tell ourselves the truth. Let us tell ourselves the truth. Satan is not as powerful as we have made him to be. It's because we ourselves have lost the important things that we need to face the devil. That is why Satan looks like a big deal in our life. Satan is not actually a big deal because the Bible told us in the book of Colossians that Jesus Christ made a public show of all principality and power when he resurrected from the dead. That is, Jesus already put an end to the power of the devil over your life. The reason why Satan is still having power over you is because you have neglected the truth. Amen. Amen. I know you have come for another video and you are expecting us to raise prayer points. God, every evil fighting in my family, let them die. But let me tell you this, even if the person that is doing you like you are calling it, if that person dies today, another person will come tomorrow. If you have come that challenge today, another one will come tomorrow. That is the principle of life. We will keep going from one battle to another until we leave this world. It is better for you to to equip yourself with those things that will help you overcome, rather than going around and keep praying, praying, praying when you don't actually have the right tools to to engage. Amen. Amen. That's over the wayside. I pray God will help us in Jesus name. Can we have, Hosea chapter 4 verse 1 and 6? Hosea 4:1 and 6. Hosea 4:1 and 6. Let me start from there. Hosea 4:1 and 6. Hosea 4:1. Okay, Mom. Okay, Mom. Ye shall then, you know, ye shall know the word of the Lord, yes? Now, hear this carefully. I want us to start today by building upon this. God has a controversy with Israel with those that inhabited the land. Why? Number one, because there is no truth. Number two, there is no mercy. Number three, there is no knowledge of God in the land. Verse 6, Mom. Now, it now continues to say, My people are actually destroyed. Now, not because God is not powerful, not because God cannot deliver, but because they lack knowledge. Now, because you have rejected knowledge, God will also reject you. It's okay, Mom. Amen. Amen. Let me remind you, keep this verse in your heart every time. Keep this verse in your heart, your heart, every time. That's each time you try to reject the knowledge of God, what you're actually trying to do is that you're trying to make God reject you. Because when a man rejects the knowledge of God, God will in return, as a payback, reject the man. Amen. Let's go into active priesthood. Active priesthood. On Sunday, we talked about kings and priests, and we established the fact that God has made us to be kings and to be priests upon the earth. Amen. Now, on Sunday, our focus was majorly on the king aspect. We talk so much about kings. But tonight, we are going to talk about priests. The Bible texts for our welcoming service, can somebody remind us? The Bible texts for our welcoming service. Okay, everybody has forgotten. Glory to God. Revelations? Are you sure? Revelations chapter 5 verse 10 and 6 was You should know it offhand by now. You should know it offhand by now. That's that's wonderful. That's really, really wonderful. So, nobody can read Revelations 5:10 offhand. Jesus is Lord. God help us in Jesus' name. The reason why I did this is just to show us that many of us have a nonchalant attitude towards the Bible. We don't really care about the word of God. We do not really care about the word of God. So, all through last week, the various thesis and teachings and sermons we quoted Revelations 5:10, quoted quoted quoted it. Nobody has actually been this fish to actually memorize it. Dissolve with our soul in Jesus' name. So, that verse makes us to understand that God has made us kings and priests. It is a settled case already. God has already done it. So, we are not going into we are not we like I said the aspect, it is wrong to raise a prayer point and start praying that, "God, please make me a priest and a king." He has settled it already. He has done it already. What is now left for us to do is that, number one, like I said on Sunday, you have to, number one, know what God has made you to become. Because unless you come into that knowledge that this is who I am, you can never operate that dimension. Amen. So, I would like to ask us who is a priest? Who is a priest? Who is a priest? It's really shameful if you think nobody can ask that question. Who is a priest? Okay, Mom, you want to set them to mom. Okay. Okay, Mom, thank you. Thank you, Mom. A person that is set aside or consecrated for the work of God. There's somebody raising their hands at the back. Okay. So, we only have one answer to who is a priest? Who is a priest? Okay, Mom. Okay, Mom, thank you, Mom. She said a priest is someone who is like an intermediary between God and man. Any other definition of priest? It seems as if our brothers don't usually come to church. I think that's the truth. Our brothers usually attend service. God help your brothers. Brothers, God help you. Come to church. Many of us don't actually come to church. And it's true. Now, like the Apostle said, a king, a priest, like the last person said, is somebody that stands between God and men as an intermediary, and has been set aside and consecrated onto God. So, without wasting our time, what should be what we're going to talk about is active priesthood. Now, from the word active priesthood, if there is something called active priesthood, it means there is a kind of priesthood that is not active. Amen. Amen. If we call something active priesthood, it means there's a kind of priesthood that is actually not active. It is it is inactive, dormant. You can call it a dead priesthood. It is not alive, it is not functioning. It is not functioning well. Now, when we read 1 Peter 2, our Bible text, 2 to 9. When we read verse 5 and 9, most times, when we read verse 5 and 9, most times, people get excited that the Bible calls them a royal priesthood. We are all happy. We shout and we shout that, "Yes, that is who we are." But, beyond us knowing that you are a priest, there is a need for you to actually be active as a priest. Amen. Amen. Amen. I know what's we like. If I teach the Bible raw like this, many of us will get bored. But if I have stories and and and compare, the Bible is something we have seen before, you get it becomes interesting to us. Now, let me let me do a comparison for us. We all claim that we are priests legally by salvation, we have become priests. I want us to compare our own kind of priesthood to the kind of priesthood that exists in the world. An average Christian that has been going to church for over 5 years, for over 5 years, is still finding it difficult to use prayers to actually change and and and alter the realities in the life. Now, let us compare that kind of Christian with a 3-year with a 3-year-old witch. A 3-year-old witch, although not very old in age, can actually come into a family and because she has matured the act of priesthood to let's wait. It's time our family problem within 2 months. Amen. But we as Christians, every Sunday we shout, we are the sons of God, we are the king and priests. The smallest conditions in our lives, we do not know how to alter them to our advantage. Amen. Amen. Let me say this once: we are not disadvantaged as Christians. We are actually at an advantage. The problem is because we do not know how to engage the things that God has given us for our advantage, not us to actually maximize them. We don't actually know how to maximize them. If you If you miss the average son or daughter of For example, if you miss the average son or daughter of for example, things that Things that that guy does not or is no longer afraid of because by growing up in the house of in a shrine, by serving that God, that he has actually mastered some things that when some things happen, he's not afraid. He knows what to do. He knows what to do, the exact thing to do to escape that condition. But we as believers, calling ourselves kings and priests, always, claiming that we are kings and priests, we are finding it difficult to actually regulate the events in our lives through priesthood. Amen. Amen. So legally, because you are a son of God, you are a king and a priest. But that does not mean that you are actually active as a priest. Now, let me compare the Testaments and the New Testament for us. In the Old Testament, Aaron and his descendants and the tribe of Levites were the ones that God ordained as priests in Amen. Now, can you read it again? Now, we should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Now look at us me. Amen. Amen. Now, the Bible says that we should show forth the praises of God. That is, you should show forth, offer praises to God as his priest. Now, do you know that this does not mean that anything that comes out of your mouth that you call acceptable to God? Praise God. Praise God. Let me give us an example. You can wake up one day. You can wake up one day and listen to a secular song, and by the inspiration of that circular song, you can feel like and then you will remix it and re-modify it and come to church and come and sing that song and tell us that you are doing praise and worship, you're actually singing nonsense. As far as God is concerned, whatever does not come from his source, and does not carry his own life, you cannot offer it to him. You cannot bring Babylon and offer it to God. What was born what was generated in Babylon, you cannot offer it in Zion. The two kingdoms have different civilizations. Amen. So, a priest legally does not equate to being active and being accurate as a priest. It does not equate to his A man must learn the ways of priesthood. You have to learn is how to be effective and potent as a priest. How to be effective and potent as a priest, it has to come by learning. Amen. Let me let me give us this example again. Do you know that every time you come to church like this, every time you come to church like this, and you sing and you praise God, or you are given the opportunities to come before the people of God to lead them in praises. You are not standing as yourself. You are actually standing as a priest before God to offer something to God. You are actually ministering to God. And once you don't know how, once you don't know the ways of priesthood, you will do something that looks good in the eyes of everybody, but Praise God. God will do us. God will reject it. God will reject it. On Wednesday, we were talking about unfortunately many of us were…
